You still have to change the idea of pursuing foreign blood and winning foreign blood. Nowadays, there are too many excellent bloodline pigeons in China, but they don't have a name or the name is not well known. If you don't know the pedigree, then look at the family breed to see if the pigeon is a stable pigeon of the owner. Now there are more than a dozen pigeons, and maybe these pigeons are consistent pigeons, and that's a good pedigree. This is the basis for the selection of pigeons. It's not that a pigeon without family support is necessarily bad, but a pigeon with family support at least has a better chance.
Choose an individual, look at the bloodline and then look at the individual, and the individual should start from a young age. It is not enough that the parents are all excellent pigeons, you also have to look at the situation of the pigeons themselves, after the parents are paired, brooding is hard, so continuous brooding can lead to a decrease in the quality of the offspring. The first three litters of pigeons are generally selected, which is more secure. And the specific pigeon must come out of the excellent pigeon eggs, and it must have a very good physique after it comes out of the shell, not for a few days or soft lying on its stomach, it is not good.
Feathers, feel thin, tight, slippery. When the wings are opened, the main and secondary feathers are stepped in shape, and the first main feather is slightly higher than the last one. The secondary plume is compact, small in area, and neatly arranged. The main feathers should be wind-breaking, each main feather is arranged and overlapped like a blind, and the tips of the first three main feathers should preferably have a little curve. The length of the main feather and the length of the secondary feather are the most ideal, and there is no need to look at how long or short the main feather is. The eyes, the eyes are mysterious in identifying pigeons, and the fancier's study concluded: "dry, old, oily." But my opinion is that the eyes should be sharp and look very sharp, and the eye sand should go through the bottom, with a clear resolution, that is, the colors should be different. The eyelids are also important, tight but not too wet.
Then look at the ability of the pigeon to live independently, how the ability of a pigeon to live independently is not only to see how the pigeon eats, how to drink water and learning ability, but also depends on the specific performance of the pigeon, including but not limited to whether the pigeon has a big stress reaction, whether the pigeon is sick, whether the pigeon has sub-health, whether the pigeon is very fast to adapt to the environment and so on. These are some of the signs of good or bad pigeons. Unless your pigeon breed is a late maturing and a bit of a poor learner, but a late bloomer.
Then look at the situation of the pigeon training, the training mainly includes home flight training and road training. These trainings are very long, and how well the pigeons are performing can give you a lot of information. When we find out that the pigeons are doing very well, we can almost be sure that the pigeons are not bad. If the pigeons prefer the loft, this is not ideal, but some pigeons are very good in the loft at two months of age, very fast and stable, such pigeons are valuable, but they require a little more thought.
It is better if there are no such drawbacks.
Finally, we look at the results of the pigeons and their physical condition after the race. The results of the competition are the best in nature, and the results induced by medication are not of high value. The results were good and consistent, and when we came back from the race, we recovered very well and there were no bad things after the race. Avoid keeping pigeons that have been broken after the race. Even the best pedigree needs to be carefully selected so that the breeding team can last for a long time.
