On the morning of May 14, the Shenzhen International Western Highway Hub Logistics Park officially started.

This logistics park is the flagship project and core carrier of Shenzhen's production and service-oriented national logistics hub, and is also one of the seven major external logistics hub projects planned by Shenzhen's "7+30+N" three-level logistics station system, which is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2025.

The project is located in Songgang Street, Bao'an District, covering an area of 75,000 square meters, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan, and is developed and operated by Shenzhen International Bay Area Investment and Development Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen International Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shenzhen International"), a state-owned enterprise in Shenzhen.

Chen Wenyuan, the person in charge of the Shenzhen International Western Highway Logistics Hub Project, introduced: "The logistics park will rely on the advanced manufacturing foundation and geographical transportation advantages of Bao'an District, focus on the construction of core areas such as automated international logistics cloud warehouse, smart trade logistics center and cold chain center, and focus on the development of manufacturing integrated logistics, supply chain logistics, distribution and distribution related businesses. ”

The project will build a modern intelligent logistics facility cluster and a demonstration model of logistics stations with complete functions, green intelligence and leading business formats, and at the same time promote the in-depth integration and development of advanced manufacturing and logistics industry, so as to provide a solid supporting guarantee for Shenzhen's "industrial city".

National logistics hub

Shenzhen has both "four types".

There are six types of national logistics hubs: dry port, airport, port, production service, business service, and land border port, and each national logistics hub relies on different construction conditions and functions.

In July last year, Shenzhen's production and service-oriented national logistics hub was selected into the 2023 national logistics hub construction list released by the National Development and Reform Commission, making Shenzhen the first city in the country to have four types of national logistics hubs, including commercial and trade services, airports, ports and production services, and helping to accelerate the construction of a logistics center with global influence.

Relying on the core corridor of science and technology innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Shenzhen production and service-oriented national logistics hub under construction this time takes the northwest area (Baoan) and the southeast area (Longgang) as the carrier to build a spatial pattern of "one corridor and two wings".

Integrated mode of transportation, trade and distribution

Help reduce logistics costs and increase efficiency

Located in Longgang District, Shenzhen International Integrated Logistics Hub Center is the core part of Shenzhen's commercial and service-oriented national logistics hub, covering an area of 1,350 acres and divided into two phases.

The first phase is the railway container center station, which has been completed and operated, and has opened international and domestic trains. The second phase will build the first smart logistics park on top of the railway in China, with the bottom layer being the railway and the upper part being the logistics park, which has started construction at the beginning of this year and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

The Shenzhen International Integrated Logistics Hub adopts the integrated mode of transportation, trade and distribution, which greatly improves the collection and bulk cargo capacity and service efficiency of the railway, promotes the transfer of highway traffic to the railway, and promotes the optimization of regional transportation structure, which is of great significance for reducing logistics costs and increasing efficiency.

In the future, the two major projects of Shenzhen International Western Highway Hub Logistics Park and Shenzhen International Integrated Logistics Hub Center, as well as a number of Shenzhen International Smart Logistics Port projects in Longhua, Longgang, Pingshan, Yantian and other regions, will cooperate with each other to focus on the real economy, further improve the multimodal transportation network such as road, rail and water, and improve the efficiency of logistics services.
