"At noon on April 21, Mocha Town Property in Jiuliting Street, Songjiang District, received a call for help from the owner, saying that a woman jumped into the river next to the community. The situation was urgent, and Wang Guangcheng, a 64-year-old security guard, immediately rushed to the scene when he heard the news, jumped into the river, and successfully rescued the woman.
At the time of the incident, a resident was walking on the East Bridge of the community when he found a woman suddenly jumping into the river, and immediately called the property for help, and the property staff immediately notified the security guard to rush to the scene. According to witnesses at the scene, the woman who jumped into the river was agitated and stumbled in the river. Seeing this, Wang Guangcheng, who came to hear the news, jumped into the river without thinking.
As soon as Wang Guangcheng got out of the water, his feet fell into the mud. "The river is not really deep, but the silt is more than 30 centimeters thick." Wang Guangcheng recalled. So, with great difficulty, he pulled out his foot, and patiently comforted her as he approached her. Under Wang Guangcheng's comfort, the woman's mood calmed down a little, and she felt scared in hindsight, and took the initiative to stretch out her hand to him. Wang Guangcheng sped up, protected her with both hands the moment he approached the woman, and dragged her back to the shore step by step.
Subsequently, the public security, fire department, and 120 ambulances all rushed to the scene. Due to the timely rescue, after examination, the woman's health was fine. After investigation, the woman had suicidal thoughts because she couldn't think about it for a while, and jumped into the river impulsively. After being rescued, the woman returned home safely in the company of her family.
"Due to the nature of our daily work, we have a better understanding of the river situation, there is a lot of silt in the river, and people who do not understand the situation are prone to unsteady standing, and if they accidentally fall, there will be a risk of drowning." Wang Guangcheng said. Some residents who witnessed the rescue process on the bridge said that after successfully rescuing the woman who had fallen into the water, they found that Wang Guangcheng was thin and full of gray hair, and they felt that he was particularly difficult.
In the face of everyone's praise, Wang Guangcheng said that it is my duty to protect the safety of the community, and I just did what I should do.
