In April last year, the hospital admitted a patient who had been paralyzed by a cerebral infarction. Due to improper care by family members, when the patient was admitted to the hospital, a pressure sore about 10 x 10 cm in size had formed on his body, accompanied by a large amount of purulent secretion, emitting a foul odor. In the face of such a patient who is extremely difficult to nurse, Liao Yanmei carefully cleaned and disinfected the patient's wound in accordance with the operating specifications. During the nursing process, although the stench on the patient's body made her almost vomit, she still tried to control herself, comforted the patient to cooperate with the treatment, and insisted on carefully carrying out each operation step to ensure the quality of treatment. She didn't leave the ward until she instructed her family members to learn how to turn the patient over and massage the pressure area.
For nurses, caring for a patient's wound is a common thing. "In order to make the patient recover as soon as possible, I actively reviewed the relevant information on pressure ulcer treatment in my spare time, and formulated a reasonable nursing plan based on clinical experience. Under the careful care of my sisters and me, the patient's bedsore sores finally grew new granulation tissue! The infection was brought under control, and I smiled when I saw that the patient's condition was getting better day by day, and that there were smiles on the faces of the patients and their families. Liao Yanmei said that as nursing workers, patients' recognition and praise of their work is the highest honor bestowed on them.
