Early summer has arrived, and it is the best time for hairy crab seedlings to be stocked. In the past few days, in the crab ponds all over Sihong, local crab farmers have seized the opportunity to put "big-eyed larvae" crab seedlings and start the crab breeding stage.
Less than 6 o'clock in the morning, a truck full of "big-eyed larvae" crab seedlings arrived at the aquaculture base in Weiying Town, Sihong County. Subsequently, the staff rowed a raft and released boxes of big-eyed larval crab fry into the crab pond, which was also the first batch of crab fry this year.
Gong Zihui, director of the Sihong base of Jiangsu River Crab Industrial Technology System, said: "We are going to finish the launch before 9 o'clock in the morning. Because in the later stage, the temperature is relatively high, which will affect its survival rate. Six hours before we go free, we turn on the aerator to bring up the oxygen from our water. ”
Although the newly hatched "big-eyed larvae" crab seedlings are only the size of a grain of rice, they are full of vitality and pour into the crab pond one after another, competing to grow. In the following days, these crab fry will gradually grow in the crab pond until they become buckle crabs. At that point, they will be moved to a new shelter for shelling and growing. In September and October of the following year, these crab seedlings will grow up and mature and climb onto the dining table of citizens.
Zhu Ping, general manager of Sihong County Yaohua Aquatic Seed Industry Co., Ltd., said: "I took 1,100 catties of big-eyed larvae, and the amount per mu was about 5 catties. According to the current number of pigtails and our 200 acres of scientific breeding area, it is expected that we will be able to produce about 120,000 catties of crabs in autumn. ”
It is understood that this year, the crab breeding area in Sihong County has reached more than 15,000 mu, and it is expected to put 30,000 kilograms of crab seedlings, which will be completed in the near future. In recent years, Suqian City has insisted on paying equal attention to the introduction of new varieties and expanding breeding capacity, and has continuously improved the coverage rate of aquatic varieties, and has successively introduced new varieties of river crabs such as "Yangtze River No. 1", "Yangtze River No. 2", "Noah No. 1" and "Jianghai 21".
At present, the cultivation area of river crab seedlings in the city has been close to 20,000 mu, and the self-sufficiency rate of crab seeds is 100%. Not only that, the growth specifications of river crabs have increased year by year, and the output of large-sized river crabs accounts for more than 50% of the total production. The average benefit per mu of the city's river crab industry is 3,000 yuan, and the coverage rate of aquatic varieties exceeds 85%.
