Gas safety is a matter of concern to thousands of households, and if the old gas pipeline network is "overaged", there will be potential safety hazards. In order to solve the problem of long-term "service" of gas pipelines, our city has accelerated the upgrading of the old gas pipeline network in combination with the transformation of old residential areas in recent years. It was learned from China Resources Gas Company, a subsidiary of the Municipal Group, that since the beginning of this year, it has completed the transformation of gas pipelines in more than 10 communities with a total of 9.4 kilometers, including Taoyuan New Village, Luzhuang Area, Fenglei New Village, Fengguangli and Baizhuang Village, benefiting more than 13,000 residents.
Recently, when I came to Jianghai New Village Community, the dark yellow gas pipeline on the façade of the gray and white house was particularly eye-catching, and the construction personnel dug a 80-centimeter-diameter operation pit around the tail of the gas main pipe of the building, and the steel-plastic conversion pipe connecting the ascending household pipe and the buried pipe was exposed.
"The city's gas pipeline network was put into operation earlier, some gas facilities have been running for a long time, and the pipes and anti-corrosion layers have been aged to varying degrees. Ji Qiang, deputy manager of Wuxi China Resources Gas Pipeline Network Operation Department, said that in the past, the anti-corrosion layer outside the steel-plastic conversion pipe was laid manually, and the product quality was uneven, and it was susceptible to soil erosion for a long time, resulting in corrosion and perforation.
Considering that the renovation of the old community will affect the whole body, CR Gas has formulated a "tailor-made" operation plan to minimize the impact of the renovation on the surrounding residents and enterprises, and ensure that the pipe is changed "without feeling".
"Traditional renovation often requires the gas shutdown valve to replace the pipeline, which not only affects the daily gas consumption of users, but also may bring potential safety hazards of gas leakage." Ji Qiang said that when replacing gas pipelines, new processes and technologies such as pressure openings and plugging will be introduced, and saddle-shaped "protective covers" will be put on the periphery of steel-plastic conversion pipes, so as to quickly complete the replacement of new and old pipelines without affecting gas supply. For the residential areas that do not have the conditions to use the "protective cover", CR Gas adopts the latest mobile LNG supply guarantee skid to directly connect the pipelines in the residential area that do not affect the construction to the "temporary inflatable treasure" for emergency supply, so as to minimize the impact of the renovation project on users.
It is reported that the city will carry out an assessment of the gas pipeline that has been in operation for more than 20 years, and strive to promote the renewal and transformation of the old pipeline network, and it is expected that the urban area will complete the transformation of the old gas pipeline network of 33.5 kilometers this year. "At present, we are formulating a special treatment implementation plan for the problem of 'sick operation' of gas pipelines, and re-evaluate the old pipelines by dynamically detecting the operation of gas pipelines, and simultaneously forming a remediation plan and a list of problems, so as to solve the problem of gas pipeline network by 'prescribing the right medicine'." The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Administration and Garden Bureau said.
