Because Peru established diplomatic relations with the mainland as early as 1971, and China and Peru have been continuously strengthening cooperation over the years, it is also a matter of time before the severance of diplomatic relations with Taiwan is also a matter of time.
Now that there is only one week left before Lai Ching-te's inauguration ceremony, the reaction of Taiwan's remaining 12 "countries with diplomatic relations" has been somewhat cold. Some scholars speculate that Haiti and Guatemala have already shown signs that they will "sever diplomatic relations" with Taiwan.
In addition, Paraguayan President Pania recently made a speech that diplomatic relations with Taiwan could affect relations between Paraguay and Chinese mainland.

From the economic level, the stock market on the island of Taiwan has changed significantly, and in just two days, the cumulative sale of foreign capital has exceeded 54 billion, and foreign capital is accelerating its flight from the island.
On the other hand, at the end of last year, the mainland also announced the termination of ECFA tariff concessions on 12 petrochemical products in Taiwan, and banned a number of agricultural products with food safety problems in Taiwan, such as pineapples and shakyas, from entering the market.
This shows that the strategy of "impoverishing Taiwan" economically has also been put on the right track.
