Not long ago, the commander of the PLA Air Force met in Beijing with the commander of the joint operations of the UAE Ministry of Defense. In response to this meeting, the American media "Business Insider" has recently made some analysis, in their opinion, with the continuous advancement of military cooperation between the two countries, the UAE is likely to purchase a batch of J-20 from China. To be honest, the analysis of the Americans is actually nothing new, since the UAE purchased a batch of "Falcon" advanced training aircraft from us, the outside world has been speculating whether this rich Middle Eastern country will buy a batch of Chinese stealth fighters in the future.
The reason for such speculation is mainly because the UAE does meet the conditions for the purchase of the J-20, not only because it has money but also has good relations with China. When all conditions are met, whether China's stealth fighters will be exported to the Middle East has naturally become a very exciting thing, so the question is, is it really possible for the J-20 to be exported to the United Arab Emirates?
Combined with the current specific situation, the probability at this stage is basically equal to zero. First of all, the significance of J-20 to the mainland must be clearly understood, although China did show the J-20 to the UAE at military exhibitions, but this is only to show the strong strength of China's aviation industry, not to export J-20. From China's point of view, the J-20 not only represents the high-level combat capability of the Air Force, but more importantly, promoting exports not only faces the risk of military leaks, but also affects the strategic balance of a region.
In this case, the UAE buying the J-20 back will only increase tensions in the region, and this is not what we want to see, as a responsible and peace-loving developing country, we are not like the United States, China has never been keen on selling weapons to foreign countries.
Secondly, although there are endless speculations that the UAE wants to buy J-20, it is very likely that this ally of the United States is playing tricks, and the idea of buying stealth fighters is estimated to exist, but the target is most likely not J-20, but F-35. The UAE has long had a plan to purchase F-35 stealth fighters from the United States, however, the Americans are not enthusiastic about this plan, because it will break the absolute leading position of the Israeli Air Force in the Middle East, so the Biden administration has not agreed.
Against the backdrop of constant rejection, the top of the UAE military has only begun to get closer to China, and military cooperation between the two countries is increasing. Now it seems that the Afghan side is most likely doing this only to illuminate the bleak prospects of purchasing F-35 stealth fighters from the United States. To sum up, there is basically no possibility of the J-20 going to the Middle East at this stage, on the one hand, it is impossible for us to sell, and on the other hand, the other party may not be sincere to buy. But it's hard to say what will happen in the future, after all, the relationship between China and the UAE is indeed developing, if the United States has been refusing to sell the F-35, then what kind of cooperation will China and the UAE have in the future, who can say for sure?
