At 9:20 a.m. on May 11, the alarm sounded suddenly on the campus of Shijiahe Primary School, and a tense and orderly earthquake prevention and disaster reduction drill officially kicked off.
Teachers and students in the school reacted quickly after hearing the alarm. The teachers calmly instructed the students to take shelter nearby, and the students hid under their desks as quickly as possible, protecting their heads with books and other items. After the short pause of the "earthquake", the evacuation signal sounded, and the teachers of each class immediately organized the students to follow the predetermined evacuation route, holding their heads in their hands, bending down and bowing, quickly and orderly evacuated the teaching building and went to a safe place to assemble. The whole exercise process was tense and orderly, and all teachers and students were safely evacuated within the specified time.
After the drill, Chen Xiaolong, the head of the school's safety work, summarized the activity, emphasized the importance of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and fully affirmed the performance of the students in the drill.
