This photo of me and my mother was taken on January 1, 1977.
It was a happy and beautiful moment, and it was also a moment when I was about to leave my hometown and go far.
In that fiery era, under the influence of my family since I was a child, I hope that I will grow up early, and hope that one day I can wear military uniforms like my parents and two older brothers and become a member of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
This day has finally arrived!
On December 29, 1976, I received the coveted enlistment notice and put on the green military uniform I had been longing for.
Excitement, joy, excitement... Full of beautiful vision and yearning for the future...
On January 1, 1977, at the beginning of the new year, our family came to the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers Photo Studio (formerly Yanfang Photo Studio) with joy and took two group photos, one was a group photo of the whole family, and the other was this group photo of me and my mother.
Two days later (January 3, 1977), I put on my military uniform and embarked on a journey towards the ranks of the Chinese People's Liberation Army!
These two photos were sent to me by my parents after I arrived in the army.
I remember at that time, I was very happy to see the photos, very kind... Especially this photo of me and my mother, which is very good: cordial, natural, mother-son affection...
I remember that many years later, my mother once said to me: "Little three (our three brothers, I am the third, my mother always loves to call me the third child), in the photo of you and your mother, I like this one the most, in the future, you have to keep it." ”
I listened to my mother and kept it very well.
For many years, there were only three things on my bedside table: a lamp, an alarm clock, and this photo with my mother.
In May 2017, this precious mother-son photo participated in the Mother's Day photo collection event hosted by Dahe Daily and was honored to be on the newspaper.
It's Mother's Day (May 12, 2024) again, and on this special holiday, I'm writing this to express my endless thoughts about my mother...
