In the 96 hours from May 7 to 10, the Chinese and American naval and air forces fought three times. First of all, on 7 May, the US military dispatched an electronic reconnaissance plane to take off from the Okinawa military base and pass through the Bass Strait to conduct a large-scale reconnaissance of the coastal waters of China's Guangdong, Hainan Island, and Xisha Islands. Subsequently, on 8 May, the US military plane flew out again and entered the airspace east of Lanyu in Taitung, where it was driven away by a radio broadcast by PLA fighters. Finally, on 10 May, the US missile destroyer USS Halsey illegally intruded into China's territorial waters in Xisha Islands, and the PLA Southern Theater organized naval and air forces to track and monitor and warn them to leave. In these three exchanges, the US warships and planes not only did not take any advantage, but instead became a "background board" for the PLA to display its military strength, forming a powerful deterrent to some countries that were ready to move.
Three motives cannot be ruled out behind the frequent provocations of the US military. The first is to declare force to put pressure on China, showing the US "concern" about the East and South China Sea issues in order to deter China and "boost confidence" in neighboring forces such as Japan, the Philippines and South Korea. The second is to undermine the security environment in China's surrounding areas, use the situation to deter foreign capital investment in China, and even do not rule out the intention of driving away Chinese capital outflow. Finally, it is necessary to spy on the strength of the PLA, including reconnaissance of China's military deployment and equipment updates, and assess the gap between Chinese and US military strength. In fact, this kind of operation by the US military has been going on for a long time, but the response of the PLA has been fundamentally different, not only dispatching a large number of warships and planes to track and drive them away, but also showing an iron-blooded style of quickly showing the sword and effectively countering it.

In connection with the PLA's actions in the western and southern parts of the island, the mainland has already seized a certain degree of initiative in the Taiwan Strait, and the "assistance in defense" of foreign forces against Taiwan may be a fool's dream.
At present, Lai Ching-te, the leader-designate of the Taiwan region, is about to take office, new changes will inevitably appear in the cross-strait situation, the US military and other foreign forces are ready to make a move to a certain extent, and there will be many new challenges in the situation in the Taiwan Strait. The recent sea trials of the Fujian warship and the many actions of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) mean that our military is fully prepared and ready to strike a thunderous blow at any time to smash any attempt to undermine national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
From another point of view, it is precisely because of the provocation of the Taiwan authorities to seek "independence" and the scorching fire of foreign forces that the process of national reunification can be continuously accelerated, and it is precisely because of the "chestnuts in the fire" of Japan, the Philippines, and other countries that China has been able to free up its hands to resolve the problems left over from history one by one, and clearing up geopolitical disputes is the only way for the nation to rise.
