Recently, the control node project of the construction project from Wuwei (Tower Bridge) to Chaohu (Muji) section of the S30 Tongshang Expressway - Muji Hub Interchange Project is progressing in an orderly manner. At present, the bridge body of the upper span of the Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway has been fully erected, and the pavement construction stage is underway, and it is planned to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2025. After the completion of the Muji hub, there will be a second high-speed passage from Chaohu to Wuhu.
The total mileage of the section from Wuwei (Taqiao) to Chaohu (Muji) of Tongshang Expressway is 27.456 kilometers, of which 19.81 kilometers are in Wuwei City and 7.646 kilometers are in Chaohu City. The route starts from the Taqiao hub of Hedian Town, Wuwei City, connects the north bank of the Tongling Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge of the Hefu Railway and the Shijian to Taqiao section of the Wuwei to Tongcheng Expressway, and lays it to the northwest, passing through the Kaicheng Town of Wuwei City and the Ba Town of Chaohu City, and ends at Muji Ouqiao Village, Chaohu City, and connects the G4221 Huwu Expressway Wuwei to the west section of Yue.
The whole line of the project adopts the standard of two-way six-lane expressway, fully enclosed and fully interchangeable, with a design speed of 120 km/h, a roadbed width of 34.5 meters, and four interchanges of Taqiao (hub), Kaesong, Bazhen and Muji (hub).
It is worth mentioning that the bidding plan for the construction of the subgrade pavement of the Chaohu (Muji) to Feixi (Sanhe) section of the S30 Tongshang Expressway has been released on the net, and it is expected to start construction within the year. The route of the project starts from the Muji hub of Huailin Town, Chaohu City, connects the Wuwei (Taqiao) to Chaohu (Muji) section of Tongshang Expressway, intersects with the Wuwei to Yuexi section of Huwu Expressway, and lays it out to the northwest, passing through Shengqiao Town, Baishan Town, Tongda Town, Lujiang County, and ending in the north of Sanhe Town, Feixi County, and connects to the southern ring section of G9912 Hefei Metropolitan Ring Expressway.
The total length of the project route is about 41.4 km. The whole line is built according to the standard of two-way six-lane expressway, with a design speed of 120 km/h, a roadbed width of 34.5 meters, and an asphalt concrete pavement. After the completion of the project, Wuwei citizens can go directly to Hefei through the expressway, which plays an important role in alleviating the traffic load of the existing Wuhe Expressway and Shanghai-Wuhan Expressway.
