Recently, the customs officer of the Capital Airport under Beijing Customs found that there was an abnormality in the machine inspection image of a passenger's checked baggage when supervising the passengers and baggage carried by the inbound flight. After customs officers opened the box for inspection and on-site counting, the passenger carried 18,600 cigarette cartridges (heat-not-burn tobacco products) and 400 cigarettes that had not been declared to the customs.

Customs reminder: cigarettes are restricted from entering the country. Visitors from Hong Kong and Macao and mainland residents travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao for business purposes can bring 200 cigarettes, or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco into Hong Kong and Macao duty-free. Other passengers (except for passengers who travel between Hong Kong and Macao for a short period of time, frequent entrants and residents of border areas) can bring 400 cigarettes, or 100 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco into China duty-free.
