It is understood that 98-year-old Zhou Yanling was born in a small mountain village in Yulin, Guangxi. Zhou Yanling is the eldest daughter in the family, and has a younger sister and a younger brother.
When she was in college, the money given by her family could not fully support Zhou Yanling's daily life. In order to eat for free, she works part-time in the school cafeteria. When she is not in class, she distributes leaflets for a day, runs dozens of teaching buildings, earns dozens of yuan, and goes to education and training institutions as a teaching assistant.

In 2021, 23-year-old Zhou Yanling graduated from the French major and joined the "non-drifting" army.
She has repeatedly told her friends about her desire to study in France, preferably to stay and work in the future, or somewhere else. Not long ago, she told a friend that she could save 1 million yuan to study in France after working in Africa for another year.
However, on March 25 this year, Zhou Yanling was diagnosed with malignant typhoid malaria.
In the early morning of the 26th, domestic time, Zhou Yanling said that she had taken artemisinin and had a fever, but her body would still tremble.
On the afternoon of the 27th, Zhou Yanling simply replied in the friend group that she had vomited and her voice became hoarse.
Since then, Zhou Yanling's friends have never received any more messages from her.
On April 1, Zhou Yanling's company said it had contacted Zhou Yanling's parents through the police station.

Subsequently, several close friends were told that the family and the company had negotiated the aftermath and compensation. According to Zhou Yanling's friends, Zhou Yanling's company proposed two plans at that time:
The first plan is to hope that Zhou Yanling's parents can come to the places where she worked and lived before her death, such as: dormitories, office space, medical facilities, etc., and can hold a funeral in the local area.
