This trip to Turkey is one of the destinations I've always dreamed of. However, when I arrived in this exotic country, I was apprehensive. For someone who is new to this land, the uncertainties prevent me from completely relaxing. But as the journey progressed, I discovered many surprising things.
First of all, what sticks to me is the friendliness of the Turkish people. When I got lost in the narrow streets of Istanbul, there were always enthusiastic locals who reached out and helped me find my destination. Although they may not be able to speak English fluently, the kindness expressed with gestures and smiles makes me feel warm. However, as touching as the friendliness of the Turkish people is, I can't ignore the inflated prices in this country. When I came to Turkey, I thought I would be able to enjoy a good and affordable shopping experience, but the reality surprised me. On the commercial streets of Istanbul, the prices of various goods almost prohibited me. Especially when I try to buy handicrafts with Turkish characteristics, the high prices make me feel a little sorry for my wallet. While I know it's worth it to enjoy some luxuries while traveling, the high prices are still uncomfortable for a traveler on a budget.
Still, I fell deeply in love with this vibrant and charming country. Every ancient building seems to tell a story of a thousand years, and every scenery is refreshing. From the hot air balloon in Cappadocia, I overlooked the spectacular volcanic rock formations and felt the magic of nature. In a small fishing village on the coast of the Aegean Sea, I tasted fresh and delicious seafood and felt the leisurely pace of life. Every trip is a baptism of the soul and makes me cherish what I have in front of me even more.
During my trip to Turkey, I met many interesting people. Among them was a young man named Amir, who was a lover of traditional Turkish music. It was through a chance encounter that we talked about our love of music and forged a strong friendship. Amir introduced me to many local Turkish musicians and bands, giving me a deeper understanding of the country's musical culture. We went to a local music festival together, enjoyed the melodious music, and felt the enthusiasm and heroism of the Turkish people.
In addition to Amir, I also got to know an elderly couple who are natives of Turkey. They generously invited me to their home to taste authentic Turkish food together.
