Ronnie O'Sullivan won the WST Player of the Year award
On May 10, 2024, according to David Caulfield, the Rockets were named WST Player of the Year after winning five championships in the 23/24 season.
The Rocket began his prolific career at the Shanghai Masters in September with a record fifth ascension to the event. He defeated World Champion Luca in the final.
Soon after, the Rocket won a record eighth British Championship and then raised his Masters championship tally to the same level as the British Championship in January.
At the British Championships, the Rocket defeated Ding Junhui in the final, and then he defeated Carter to win the prestigious Masters title at Alexandria Palace.
The 48-year-old continued his rich form before he won the World Grand Prix over Trump.
The victory at the inaugural Riyadh season at the World Masters once again negated Brecel's glory and earned the Rockets their fifth championship ring.
Another British star, Judd Trump, also won five titles in the 23/24 season, but was eventually beaten by his esteemed compatriot to win the Player of the Year award, his first honorary title since 2014.

The Rockets also won Strachan Fan Player of the Year and Star Reporter Player of the Year.
Although he fell out of that position after losing in the quarterfinals of this year's World Championships, replaced by Allen, the seven-time world champion has been world number one for most of the season.
In other awards, Kyren Wilson won the Performance of the Year award for his outstanding performance at the World Championships.
Earlier this week, the 32-year-old won his maiden World Title by beating qualifier Jack Jones 18-14 in the final at Sheffield Crucible.
Ho was named Rookie of the Year at 66th in the world rankings in his debut.
The Magic Moment award went to Murphy for hitting an incredible perfect 147 in a single-game limited time snooker tournament in December.
Murphy became the first player to score 147 points in the event, which features a time-limited shot rule.
The 2005 World Champion defeated the Magic Moments of the Year competition from Williams and Higgins.

Two players have joined the WST Hall of Fame, which honors the great players in snooker history and those who have made significant contributions to the sport.
Luca joined the elite club after winning the World Snooker Championship in 2023. Daniel Buren was also inducted into the Hall of Fame as the most successful player ever on the World Para Billiards and Snooker Tour, with a total of 16 titles.
