In this county rich in history, there is a unique and hidden corner - the Chenggu Water Transport Wharf, which was built in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.
Chenggu County Water Transport Wharf is located in Guanbei Village, Daxiguan, about 150 meters east of Chenggu Bus Station of Hanyun Division of National Highway 108. From the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, it was an important port for the Hanjiang River water transport route, with hundreds of merchant ships entering and leaving every day, and at its peak, nearly 300 wooden boats were often docked on the wharf. There are many sails and dense ships, and it is a prosperous scene. Until 1996, ships were still docked here, which greatly contributed to the prosperity of the city.
In recent years, Chenggu County has strengthened and repaired the houses in the area of the water transport wharf in accordance with the planning and design plan for the protection of the historical and cultural city, which not only retains the traces of history, but also integrates modern elements, increases public service facilities, and builds it into a charming cultural block, recording the once prosperous water transport culture of Chenggu.
