On 10 May 2024, the United Nations convened an emergency special session and adopted a resolution by an overwhelming majority affirmative vote that the State of Palestine met its membership status as a member of the United Nations under the Charter of the United Nations and should be admitted to the United Nations. However, the resolution is currently only a draft resolution.
