Yu Qingrong is a member of the 14th Shanghai CPPCC and has previously served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Hongkou District CPPCC. He strives to fulfill his responsibilities as a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and before submitting his proposals, he often contacts and consults relevant experts and scholars, and goes deep into the grassroots, enterprises and communities to carry out investigation and research.
Every year, Yu Qingrong will write a number of proposals on development and people's livelihood protection, including "enhancing the influence of the city's cultural creativity and communication", "promoting the construction of Shanghai's 'City of Design'", "strengthening the standardization and standardization of barrier-free environment", etc., which have been affirmed by the CPPCC and the proposal handling units; Proposals on topics such as "strengthening the cultivation of leading science and technology enterprises" have become key proposals of the CPPCC for two consecutive years.
In November 2023, Yu Qingrong was elected as the president of the second new social class friendship association in Hongkou District. Over the years, Yu Qingrong has taken her daughter to participate in charity activities, helping children in remote Tibetan areas of Ganzi Prefecture in Sichuan Province to learn and treat diseases, and helping them build their dreams with art.
He also actively participated in activities such as supporting the army and giving preferential treatment to family members and disaster relief. In October 2020, Yu Qingrong auctioned two lots in the "Different Spaces, One Hope" Dream City Art Charity Auction organized by the Shanghai Charity Foundation, donating 5,500 yuan; In December 2020, Yu Qingrong donated 27,000 yuan to support the annual nursing expenses of the famous dubbing artist Su Xiu; In August 2021, he participated in the "Angel Bosom Charity Salon Autistic Children Auction" and donated lots worth 50,000 yuan. At the beginning of 2023, in the context of Shanghai's creation of a social aesthetic education system, Yu Qingrong, as a member of the CPPCC, put forward a proposal to promote a new round of popular projects: to carry out "master aesthetic education classes" in the community. At the time when Quyang Road Street, Hongkou District, proposed to build a "scholarly Quyang" cultural parlor, Yu Qingrong took the initiative to make good use of the resources of the art museum and jointly open the "master aesthetic education class" in the community with the street. Since the opening of the "Master Aesthetic Education Class", more than 20 special lectures and exhibitions have been held, focusing on the traditional Chinese calligraphy, painting and seal carving art, taking into account music and Chinese arts, attracting nearly 10,000 people to come here to experience the charm of traditional culture. Under the traction of this project, in November 2023, the "Yuanxiang Cultural Source Station" and the "Jiading Branch of Shanghai Huanguang Art Museum" will be officially opened. Continuing the successful experience of "Scholarly Quyang", the Jiading Branch Library brings the excellent traditional Chinese culture to more community residents through high-quality exhibitions and lectures by famous experts. As the manager of the livelihood project of "Master Aesthetic Education Class in the Community", Yu Qingrong also took the initiative to bear the organization cost of aesthetic education class and the monthly operating expenses of the cultural parlor, and has spent nearly 300,000 yuan free of charge, and has also invested a lot of time and energy to improve the quality of cultural and artistic lectures to meet the cultural needs of community residents.
