On the 11th, the environmental renovation of the water area and embankment tidal flat of the Kaifu section of the Xiangjiang River was launched, and the Kaifu District Urban Management Bureau and the District Landscaping Maintenance Center, Zhiying Sanitation, and the 18.3-kilometer shoreline of the Kaifu section of the Xiangjiang River were carried out by water and land.
When the water rises during the flood season, "boundless falling trees and Xiaoxiaoxia" becomes an alternative scene in the river basin, where driftwood and dead branches and floating garbage flow downstream, which not only affects the city environment, but also hinders the flow of floodwater. Kaifu District has very rich waterfront water resources, Xiangjiang River, Liuyang River, Laodao River, Shahe River, Baisha River "one river and four rivers" around, from the Orange Island Bridge to the mouth of the Xiangjiang Shahe River, the shoreline of the Kaifu section of the Xiangjiang River is 18.3 kilometers. In order to maintain a clean, fresh and beautiful image of Kaifu waters, the Kaifu District Urban Management Bureau took the lead in launching the environmental renovation of the waters and embankments and tidal flats of the Kaifu section of the Xiangjiang River.
In the early morning of the same day, 4 fully automatic salvage boats and 12 small sweepers went north from the Orange Island Bridge to intercept and salvage floating garbage. More than 420 volunteers and garden workers from Tongtai Street, Xiangya Road, Xinhe, Furong North Road, Xiufeng and Qingzhuhu along the Xiangjiang River, as well as the Kaifu District Youth Volunteer Association, removed garbage from the embankment in sections and trimmed the green belt along the river. As of 4 p.m., a total of 54.8 tons of garbage had been cleared, 58,000 square meters of green belts along the Xiangjiang River had been cleaned, and 12,000 square meters of green areas had been pruned and impurities.
It is worth mentioning that the water area and embankment renovation of the Kaifu section of the Xiangjiang River will run through the whole year and extend to the "one river and four rivers" in the area, and the water surface cleaning, embankment cleaning, garbage removal and transportation, and greening maintenance will be implemented. There is no floating garbage on the water surface of the Kaifu section of the Xiangjiang River, no garbage is obviously stranded at the waterfront junction, the embankment is neat and clean, and the water-friendly slope and embankment trees, hedges, and lawns are well maintained, and the garbage cleaned up on the day is temporarily stacked on the embankment and wharf for no more than 24 hours.
