On May 10, it was reported that at the annual general meeting of shareholders of Great Wall Motors held today, Li Ruifeng, chief growth officer of Great Wall Motors, revealed that the flagship model of the tank brand, the Tank 800, is expected to be released before the end of this year.
The Tank 800 was first unveiled at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, positioned as a large SUV and belonging to the "Business Luxury Series" of the Tank brand.
According to the previously exposed pictures of the actual tank 800, its overall appearance is the same as that of the show car exhibited at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.
The front of the car has a more square design, with a circular LED design inside the headlight cluster, while the front grille is designed with dual details of vertical and horizontal banners, adding to the vehicle's identity.
In terms of interior, the Tank 800 will continue to adopt the design style of the Tank 500, equipped with a floating center control screen and a full LCD instrument cluster, while paying more attention to creating a luxurious atmosphere in the car.
The interior of the car adopts a brown interior color, combined with dark wood grain trim, and is equipped with a head-up display function, which enhances the sense of technology and luxury in the cockpit.
In terms of power configuration, although the official has not yet announced specific information, according to the power system layout of the current tank brand, the tank 800 is expected to be equipped with the same power system as the tank 700 Hi4-T.
For reference, the Tank 700 Hi4-T is equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a 3.0T V6 engine and a P2 electric motor, which has a combined output of 385 kW and a combined torque of 800 Nm, mated to a 9-speed hybrid-specific gearbox.
The launch of the Tank 800 will further enrich the product line of the Tank brand and occupy a place in the large SUV market to meet consumers' demand for high-end luxury SUVs.
