Why did Chiang Kai-shek, blinded by power, take this step? Why did China "withdraw" from the United Nations?
It was first proposed, but it was turned away
As the most authoritative international organization in the world today, China is a well-deserved golden promoter of the establishment of the United Nations.
At the outbreak of the Second World War, the fascists bluntly put the battlefield on the heads of all peace-loving people in the world, and all mankind suffered unprecedented damage and disasters for the selfishness of the trespassers.

It was not until August 15, 1945, when Japan surrendered to the unspeakable that World War II finally came to an end. However, as the war entered its final stage, the idea that the people urgently needed an institution capable of maintaining international peace after the war had long been untenable.
China, which was the first to shout to the people of the whole world to "unite to resist the attack of the fascist Axis powers," once again took up the banner and sent a powerful delegation to the United States to participate in the entire process of founding the United Nations.
But among them, it was Chiang Kai-shek's men who were more.
The chief representative, Song Ziwen, is Chiang Kai-shek's brother-in-law, and the CCP representative is only Dong Biwu.
It is worth mentioning that when the Chinese delegation appeared in the conference hall on April 25, 1945, the bell of freedom in the Independence Hall of the United States rang eight times in a row, and all of them paid the highest respect to the Chinese military and civilians who had fought in the bloody War of Resistance for eight years in this special way.
When all the deputies took the stage to speak, there were thunderous applause and congratulations in the venue, and as the only representative of the CPC, Dong Biwu spoke even more loudly.
"Carrying the hopes of countless people, the United Nations should uphold justice, stop any acts of aggression, and solve problems in a peaceful way", this is Chairman Mao's strategy of "winning the world", and he used the realistic feedback that won the people's satisfaction to put this set of effective on the stage of the United Nations, and the international community that witnessed China's take-off chose to accept it.
After more than 60 days of hard work, the Charter of the United Nations was finally endorsed by 51 participating countries on June 26, and at the solemn signing ceremony, China became the first signatory, and China's pen announced that the Charter officially came into force.
China thought that the war really ended here, but Chiang Kai-shek laid the lead early and the international dispute was settled, but in order to implement his dictatorship that did not emphasize democracy and freedom, Chiang Kai-shek swung his butcher's knife at the Chinese Communist Party and all the soldiers and civilians in the liberated areas.
Chiang Kai-shek became a well-deserved internal worry, and the United States, which was friendly with him, also hurriedly moved closer to the direction of "external trouble." The United States not only upholds the policy of "uniting with Chiang and opposing communism," but also adopts the policy of wooing the Kuomintang within the United Nations.
It is barely forgivable for openly taking sides and not putting it into practice, but the United States proclaimed the founding of New China, and Chiang Kai-shek still did not give up after the collapse and fled, and manipulated the United Nations to do a lot of bad things against New China.
In 1950, when the US manipulation was burning in the DPRK, looking at China close at hand, the US side of course would not let go of this excellent opportunity to challenge, and they frantically stirred up trouble and provoked at the 38th parallel, putting on the table their dirty intentions of wanting to drag China into the fire pit.
In order to declare that they were enlisting in the United Nations and to defend China's territorial integrity, the soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteers rushed to Korea to participate in the war near the end of the year, and the war situation had already deteriorated, and the United States not only did not restrain at all, but announced on 27 June that it would allow the Seventh Fleet to invade the Taiwan Strait, in a vain attempt to interfere in China's internal affairs.
It is a pity that the United States overestimated Chiang Kai-shek's fist and also underestimated the strength of the Chinese government, and Taiwan has always been only a part of China.
The Chinese Government quickly lodged a protest with the United Nations, and on August 31, 1950, the case was put on the agenda, but it is a pity that the United States is the best at manipulating behind the scenes, openly changing the naked aggression against Taiwan into a general "case of indicting armed aggression against Formosa" and refusing to allow the Chinese representative to participate.
The United States forgot the fact that "the United Nations cannot be a United Nations worthy of the name without the participation of China, which represents hundreds of millions of people," but despite China's efforts to restore the legitimate status of the United Nations, it was finally rejected in September 1950.

Entering the house, the status is unstable after all
The U.S. monopoly cut off China's efforts to restore its status in the United Nations, but a secret visit by a U.S. envoy in July 1971 opened up new possibilities.
When the passenger plane landed at Beijing Nanyuan Airport at noon on July 9, Ye Jianying, Huang Hua and others had already been waiting at the airport for a long time.
In order to avoid too much international media attention, Kissinger's visit was carried out in secret, and he spent 48 hours in Beijing.
Sino-US relations have always been unharmonious, and the biggest "hero" behind the obstruction of New China's restoration of its lawful seat in the United Nations is the United States, but why does Kissinger still visit China under such conditions?
Could it be that the United States has figured it out? Want to make a gesture of goodwill to China?
That's exactly what happened.
Nixon, who took office, saw China's growing strength and China's attitude of peaceful coexistence with all countries in the world, and he did not want to be so embarrassed with China, and the biggest gap in breaking the ice was Chiang Kai-shek.
Although he was in Taiwan, Chiang Kai-shek was quite concerned about every move of the United States and the mainland. In order not to startle the snake, Nixon was committed to finding a balance of interests, but the next thing that happened made him panic.
The confrontation pattern of "the United States and the Soviet Union vying for hegemony" is well known in the world, and if China supports one side, it will deal a huge blow to the other.
But on September 9, 1969, when Ye Jianying attended Ho Chi Minh's funeral, Kosygin, then chairman of the Soviet Joint Council, asked him to send a message to Premier Zhou, hoping to meet him.
The secret meeting between the two came to life on 11 September, and the two sides that had eased their relations were naturally smiling, but the hands and feet of the United States, which heard the gossip, instantly panicked.
But in fact, when it comes to breaking the ice between China and the United States, it has always been the US side's misuse.
Chairman Mao expressed his goodwill for the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States on more than one occasion, and on December 18, 1970, he even specially invited reporter Snow to Zhongnanhai for a five-hour conversation.
With this mouth that could talk directly with Nixon, Chairman Mao once again expressed his attitude of welcoming Nixon's visit to China, which led to Kissinger's secret visit.
The long-awaited outcome was talked about by everyone, but Chiang Kai-shek was not included. Nixon's attitude made him realize that under the policy of uniting Russia with the Communist Party, the "Republic of China" would surely become a victim of the times.
In order to protect his rights, Chiang Kai-shek, who relied on "pro-American fortunes," made a surprising statement on April 15 that "we should not expect the support of the United States, and we should give priority to ourselves."
As for the seat in the United Nations, Chiang Kai-shek also said as if he wanted to open up, "If the CCP enters, we will resolutely withdraw." The rare open-mindedness is not Chiang Kai-shek's knowledge of current affairs, but his pedal for "counterattacking and recovering the country."
In Chiang Kai-shek's eyes, it did not matter whether he participated in the United Nations or not, as long as he could "recover the mainland" was better than anything else, in April 1971, Chiang Kai-shek clearly understood the feasibility of "taking the right to withdraw from the United Nations seat and protect the rights of the charter" as the best policy, and because he was diagnosed with an enlarged heart on May 27, the doctor asked him to rest more, and Chiang Kai-shek "took the initiative" to withdraw on October 27.
Make a comeback and reinvigorate China's majesty
During the meeting with Nixon, Chairman Mao said the key sentence "There is no problem of our two countries fighting each other", which laid a solid foundation for the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The stubborn US side finally said that "Taiwan is only a part of China, and the US Government no longer has any objection to this position."
On October 25, 1971, China finally restored all the legitimate rights of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations.
Representatives of many countries were so excited that they stood up and shouted, some sang and some danced, making the main stage for discussing major matters a "song and dance hall" for a while, and this great miracle belonged to China.
When the news was transmitted back to China, Chairman Mao was very happy, but the recovery did not mean the end, and he immediately asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the vote of the UN General Assembly, because he needed to analyze the changes in the world political pattern based on this.
When Chairman Mao was still in the overwhelming report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had a disagreement on whether China should go to the United Nations, and some people felt that the time was not yet ripe to go to the United Nations, but Chairman Mao's attitude was always affirmative: "I want to go!" Why don't we go, if we don't go to the United Nations, we just make it clear that we want to break away from the masses, and there are 76 brothers who are welcoming us."
When the waiting delegation was about to leave for Zhongnanhai to bid farewell to Chairman Mao, Chairman Mao shook hands with each comrade, and finally led to the allusion of "not entering the tiger's den, but getting the tiger's son" to explain the meaning of his insistence on sending the delegation, but this did not mean that Chairman Mao was risky and radical, because he asked the staff around him to call Kissinger in the name of the Chinese government and ask him to ensure the safety of the members of the Chinese delegation.
No one attaches more importance to the lives of Chinese compatriots than Chairman Mao, and when the delegation boarded the plane, Premier Zhou, members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in Beijing, and more than 5,000 people rushed to the airport to see them off.
China's diplomacy has entered a new era because of this courageous step, and the United Nations has also received manpower, equipment and even technical support for some projects because of China's recovery.
At the "UN Millennium Summit" held in September 2000, Comrade Jiang Zemin once again stressed that "the positive role of the United Nations can only be strengthened, not weakened, and the authority of the United Nations must be upheld and not undermined."
As for the United Nations, China's affirmation has never been just rhetoric.
On October 15, 2003, Shenzhou 5 successfully traveled in space, and on the seventh lap of its round-the-world flight, it displayed the United Nations flag and the five-star red flag of the same size at the same time in an exclamation.
China is not the first country to realize manned aviation, but it is the first sacred land to think of bringing the United Nations flag up.
China needs the United Nations, and the United Nations needs China as well, and because of this, October 25 is not just a day for China to remember, but for everyone in the world.
