He has worked at Aedas Beijing, PENDA Beijing, and was a teaching assistant to the renowned Swiss landscape architect Günther Vogt and a professor assistant to the BUK chair in architectural architecture. In 19 years, he received a bachelor's degree in architecture from Harbin Institute of Technology and the second prize of joint graduation design. Graduated from UCL Bpro MArch Architectural Design with a master's degree in RC5&6, mainly involved in the research of materials related to Concrete Cast. During his undergraduate studies, he spent a semester at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology as an exchange student. He has worked as an intern in HITAD, local design research center, TJAD and other companies. He has rich experience in design competitions, and has won the third prize of the 2017 Hope Cup, the third prize of the National College Student Wood Structure Competition, etc. He focuses on the relationship between architecture and environmental sites, and has a strong interest in handmade model making and photography. Prefer a simple and powerful design approach. He is good at the conceptual expression of works, logical combing, graphic typesetting and analysis of drawing rendering skills.
The idea of studying abroad originated from the sharing session of TUD seniors
When I was a freshman, I listened to a TUD seniors sharing meeting organized by the school club, and the sharing will have a great impact on me when I was a freshman still learning sketching watercolor and doing some space composition, they introduced the way of teaching in TUD, what aspects of teaching are emphasized, and also shared many European schools, I found that compared to the domestic ones, I prefer the teaching methods of European schools, which should be the reason for the beginning, as time goes deeper, I have a better understanding of the domestic industry, and after trying actual projects and internships, I hope that I have more abilities, and I also hope that I can have a certain say in design, so it has become my main purpose to go abroad to study and then go to my favorite project company for internship and experience.
Changes in the concept of school selection
My choice of school changed as I knew myself, and at the beginning, I wanted to go to TUD, I wanted to study for two years, and I wanted to go to a high ranking.
In the second half of 23 years, my understanding of myself became clearer, I want to go to a school with teachers who I agree with the concept of design, to go to a school with a high ratio of teachers, I hope that I can balance my studies and life, the city where the school is located is interesting or the scenery is very good,
In the later stage, I found that I liked the works of Swiss and Japanese architects, so AAM became the school I wanted to go to the most, and I also learned about the Vienna Yingmei master class, and I thought it was also very good, in order to avoid not being admitted, I applied to some other schools, and then I felt that if I was really not admitted, I might come back for another year, but fortunately, I finally received an offer from AAM!
AAM admission is rare, how did you feel at that time?
Be happy, I will think that I am possible, but it is still incredible to be really admitted, my friend said that it will be an unforgettable and happy moment in my life, and I do think back to every step I have worked hard for, and I have an answer.
Is the school you most looking forward to admission?
Yes, the one I want to get most is AAM. I really like the curriculum, and I've seen that AAM has a course series called Heart-to-Heart Shock, which is something I really want to do.
Share some failed interview lessons
There were two interviews, Die Angewandte and Aalto, I don't want to talk about experience, but they were all rejected hahaha.
I'm a person who thinks very jumpy, so it's easy to make people unable to find the point when I speak, that is, there is no logic, I have been partial since I was a child, and my language is not very good, so now it seems that I answered many questions very casually, if there is a person like me, it is recommended to make a draft and prepare some answers to questions.
Although it was planned, in the end, the tasks were parallel
I thought I could do everything well according to the preparation, but in fact, in the end, I did multiple jobs at the same time.

A portfolio is about forming small concepts with feelings
I didn't want a certain theme when I was preparing my portfolio, in fact, I haven't formed my own personal theme, at this stage I can only form a small concept with my own emotional perception, and then rely on this concept to go deeper, I have been to each base many times, to observe the people there, to enjoy that space.
Overall, because I was often immersed in my emotions during that time, I was very close to my own thoughts, so I wanted to make some living space.
I have two ways to help me think of a plan, one is a very long roll of sulfuric acid paper, on which I often brainstorm and I feel that writing by hand will give me more inspiration, and the other is to read all kinds of books, thanks to the library of the undergraduate school, which has a lot of magazines, autobiographies, and books published in the studio, which give me a lot of inspiration.
Favorite project: Sports Center
There is space in each project that I really want to experience, and my favorite should be the first project, the sports center in the school, the first time I saw this topic in my junior year, I thought I want to make a "cliff", I hope that students will be isolated from the outside in sports and leisure life, and integrate into nature.
Do you feel that your portfolio belongs to the "school spirit"? (laughs)
In fact, I feel that there are many styles of the school, I think my portfolio may be as clean and simple as possible, I care more about the space experience, and the project will be more practical, in fact, I think this is less interesting for some students, I may still hope that I can explore more possibilities of architecture, and can also bring more beautiful experiences to people.
It's better to be anxious than to dance!
I think everyone can have their own way of life, as long as you feel that it can make you happy and relieve anxiety, you can try it.
I haven't been able to control my life all the time, I have a long period of anxiety in 2022, I will stay in the classroom from 8 am to 10 pm every day, seven days a week, I will not be able to accept myself going out to play for a while, I have suspended a lot of what I like to do before, I haven't picked up a camera for a long time, I haven't walked into the cinema, until the first half of 2023 I started to prepare a portfolio, I am also in a state where I need to arrange myself very full, my psychological counselor at the time told me that it will not work like this, Sooner or later, I would have a breakdown, and then my body had a bit of negative feedback, and then I tried to adjust myself, I learned some new sports, and I would dance for two hours when I couldn't draw, and I would go to the small park next door for a while and watch the kids play games, and then I suddenly found myself back in a better state.
Applying is a process of continuous self-discovery
In my opinion, the application period is a process of constantly discovering myself, and my thoughts may change every time I take a step forward, and the biggest feeling is that I hope that I can try more, not be afraid of difficulties, and try to discover myself as much as possible when I am younger.
Before my senior year, I was not sure what direction I wanted to study, I liked a lot of things, and I was very willing to learn, so when faced with what to study in graduate school, I experienced a period of struggle, and I studied Python for a while before I started to prepare a portfolio, and I found that I actually liked it, I liked the process of solving problems, but I didn't feel excited about the effect of computer design output now, maybe I don't know now or maybe there will be one day in the future. I may prefer a handmade space, a space with human thoughts and emotions, so to explore the essence of architecture, about nature, materials, structure, light and shadow has become what I do when preparing my portfolio, and I hope that I can continue to try and try to follow my own path in the future.
