This year's "Horror Treehouse XXX" will follow the example of "Stranger Things"

Every year during Halloween, The Simpsons releases a short film from the Treehouse of Horror album to tell the horrors of the citizens of Springfield. This year's "Treehouse of Horrors XXX" will mimic Netflix's hit TV series Stranger Things, confirmed as the subtitle "Danger Things."

At Comic-Con San Diego this Saturday, a Simpsons group showed fans a parody of Stranger Things set in the town of Springfield in the '80s. Milhouse Van Houten is dragged into a dimension similar to The Upside Down's name "The Over Under", and the bald Lisa Simpson will take on the role of Evenn in an attempt to save Milhouse. The scene is set in a shopping mall, which is very similar to the third season of Stranger Things.

Treehouse xxx is a tribute to the classic horror movies The Omen and Exorcist, and very importantly the album is the 666th episode of The Simpsons. It is reported that "Horror Treehouse XXX" will be broadcast on Fox on October 20.
