KTM, which has been racing in MotoGP in recent years, has finally announced that it will launch a new racing model, the KTM 990 RC R, in early 2025. The new KTM 990 RC R combines KTM's experience in MotoGP™ racing with the mastery of Austrian engineers to provide an unrivalled riding experience for racetrack-loving riders, following the RC 8, RC390 and RC 8C.
KTM抢先亮相全新的 990 RC R
The KTM 990 RC R is equipped with a EURO5+-compliant LC8c engine that weighs just 57kg and delivers 103 Nm @ 10,500 rpm of maximum torque and 128 PS of maximum horsepower; Paired with a redesigned exhaust pipe and a pedal setting that allows you to quickly switch backs, you can get the rider on the track.
It is powered by the same LC8c side-by-side twin engine as the RC 8C, with 128 PS and 103 Nm of torque!
For the frame, the KTM 990 RC R features a well-engineered steel tube frame that optimizes dynamics and adjusts weight distribution and steering head angles for agile handling. In addition, the rigidity of the frame has been strengthened to provide excellent stability and agility even on bumpy roads or tracks.
Ergonomically, the KTM 990 RC R's tried and tested tank grip points have been readjusted with six contact points to make it easier for the rider to clamp the tank while also getting better support and comfort when tipping over the body. Adjustable footrests, fully adjustable WP APEX suspension, lightweight cast aluminium wheels and kitted tyres make the KTM 990 RC R even more comfortable to handle.
In terms of aerodynamics, the KTM 990 RC R's wind tunnel tested aerodynamic package improves braking stability and optimises traction when cornering. The KTM 990 RC R's body lines are even more aggressive, showing strong racing genes.
The body is equipped with an ultra-flamboyant MotoGP-style air package, and even the rear has a single-seat canopy design similar to the rear wing
In addition to the road-legal KTM 990 RC R, KTM also said it will launch a track version of the KTM 990 RC R TRACK, which will remove all the equipment required for road driving, and add protective gear, minor tweaks, customisation, as well as a redesigned track body and full exhaust system. In addition, KTM has announced that the KTM 990 RC R TRACK will compete as a wild card in the SuperSport class in Europe in mid-2024.
The 990 RC R will also be wildcard to SuperSport in Europe
Riaan Neveling, KTM's Head of Global Marketing, said: "The KTM 990 RC R is a groundbreaking innovation for riders who love cornering thrills. It's designed for riders who like to keep their bodies low, their knees almost close to the ground, and push their limits on the track.
The arrival of the KTM 990 RC R will bring a whole new choice to riders who love the track. Powerful performance, track-level handling and practical design make it the perfect choice for fast and furious riders.
