The blue and white camps have made joint efforts, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has suffered a "Waterloo" in succession, the "two-state theory" has been suspended, the overall situation of cross-strait political exchanges has been decided, and the "Taiwan independence" line is about to go bankrupt?

Although the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won another victory in the election of the leader of the Taiwan region, its support rate was only 40 percent, and the legislature in Taiwan also lost the seat advantage of the "majority party." The adverse effects of this "lame" situation are becoming prominent. Recently, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has attempted to counteract the behavior of Fu Lai-hing, the head of the Kuomintang caucus in Taiwan's legislature, to visit the mainland. On 3 May, Shen Boyang and 18 other DPP deputies proposed amending the "Regulations on Cross-Strait People-to-People Relations," requiring that those who have access to Taiwan's "security" secrets, including those who have access to Taiwan's "security" secrets, including those who have participated in secret meetings of the legislature, must go to the mainland to make declarations and obtain permission from the Taiwan authorities, as well as contact with the party, government, and military.

The DPP's proposal was jointly vetoed by the KMT and the People's Party representatives, and finally the motion was returned to the Procedure Committee for re-examination by a vote of 56 in favor and 49 against. The blue and white camp has two motives for vetoing the DPP's motion: First, the power of the DPP is to supervise the executive power, and if it needs to be approved by the Taiwan authorities when going to the mainland, it is equivalent to the executive power being "supervising the legislative power." This is not only putting the cart before the horse, but also "undermining democracy" if it is too big. Second, cross-strait political exchanges brook no obstruction. At present, under the provocation of the Taiwan authorities to seek "independence," the situation in the Taiwan Strait is heating up day by day, and the patrols of PLA fighter planes in Taiwan have become normalized; if the DPP continues to act perversely in cross-strait exchanges, the possibility of the mainland making a forceful counterattack cannot be ruled out, and it will be Taiwan's enterprises and ordinary people who will suffer the most at that time.

The Kuomintang and the People's Party jointly unveiled their swords against the DPP, reflecting that the People's Party is moving toward Taiwan's political arena with a clear political posture, and opposing "Taiwan independence" is becoming the "greatest common divisor" of the blue and white camps, and as for whether the future will be "reunified" or "maintain the status quo", it is not within the scope of consideration of the blue and white camps, and it is in line with the common interests of the two sides of the strait and the two parties and the mainstream public opinion to unite and maintain peace in the Taiwan Strait at present. On the other hand, in addition to vetoing the DPP's motion, not long ago, Su Zhenchang's daughter Su Qiaohui and other DPP representatives discussed the content of the temporary motion in Taiwan's legislature; because the proposal wrote Chinese mainland as "China," which aroused the dissatisfaction of the Chinese Kuomintang, Fu Weiqing put forward a request, stressing that no resolution should contradict the "constitutional provisions" of the Taiwan region; in the end, the DPP made a "compromise" and agreed to change the word "China" to "mainland." Su Zhenchang was silent about this and did not say a word the whole time.

At the same time, the DPP's "compromise" has confirmed a typical fact: the DPP's legislature in Taiwan no longer has a numerical advantage, and the practice of vigorously pushing forward the "Taiwan independence" proposition despite public opinion has become a thing of the past, and this is not good news for Lai Ching-te, the leader-designate of the Taiwan region.

Changes in Taiwan's political situation are inseparable from the mainland's measures to promote reunification, and promoting "peaceful reunification" with "armed reunification" is now becoming a reality; the next step of the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) patrols in the Taiwan Strait must be carried out, and the mainland's pace of "impoverishing Taiwan" must also be quickened.
