Russian officials have publicly warned that Russia may take steps in the area of nuclear deterrence in response to the deployment of intermediate-range missiles by the United States. In fact, Russia and the United States are very close, and the two sides are only separated from the Bering Strait, and once Russia retaliates, it can deploy medium-range missiles near the Bering Strait, so as to establish sufficient deterrence against the United States Alaska.
