The only Chinese element and Chinese theme in Universal Studios Beijing is the Panda Pavilion. I wanted to go in and take a few shots, but it was still dim and loud, like a big wave in the sea, which suddenly slapped me on the beach. I was unwilling and had no choice but to take a few photos of the Kung Fu Panda sculpture outside.
Although it is a sculpture, it is very simple and simple, and there is no new idea from the material to the shape, on the other hand, the shape of the Panda Pavilion of Beijing Zoo is very beautiful. Maybe Universal Studios is after the overall atmosphere and doesn't care too much about the details.
The giant panda is a national treasure of China, with several characteristics: 1. The body color is black and white, with round cheeks, big dark circles, and a chubby body;
2. The iconic inner figure-eight walking style and scalpel-like sharp claws;
3. Giant pandas originally ate meat, and after 8 million years of evolution, 99% of their food is now bamboo, but their teeth and digestive tract remain the same;
4. Only China has it in the world, and it is known as a "living fossil" and a "national treasure of China". The main habitat is the mountainous areas of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu in China.
5. The average lifespan of wild giant pandas is 18~20 years, and the average lifespan of captive-bred giant pandas can reach 25~30 years or longer.
In fact, the giant panda's original name was Cat Bear. In 1939, Chongqing Pingming Zoo held an exhibition of animal specimens, among which the "cat bear" specimen attracted the most attention from the audience. However, because the customary reading of Chinese at that time was from right to left, visitors all read "panda" as "panda", and over time, people conventionally called "big panda" "giant panda".
Someone once wrote an article to correct the name of "panda", but the people have become accustomed to it, and they feel that "panda bear" is not so pleasant. Since then, the modern name "Giant Panda" was born!
