The Serbian parliament has elected a new government, which continues to be dominated by the Kadima Party, and the new prime minister is no stranger than our old friend, Vučević. When he was Serbia's deputy prime minister and defense minister, Vucevic made it clear that he "condemns all attempts to threaten China's reunification", and compared with many European countries that "pretend to be confused", Serbia may become the first country to eat the "grapes", and China has already put its goodwill into action.
The predecessor of Serbia, which is no stranger to Chinese, is the union republic of Yugoslavia, because of historical issues such as Kosovo, Serbia has long had tense confrontational relations with European countries. President Vucic is one of the very few in European politics, not only in his unequivocal political stance of being "pro-China and pro-Russian", but also in his excellent relations with the leaders of China and Russia, while Vucevich's political views are slightly different, and the latter has a stronger vision for pursuing European integration.
Considering Vučević's long-term tenure as defense minister, there are many more concrete considerations, but if the Kosovo issue is not resolved, Serbia is destined to have a serious estrangement from Europe. Therefore, the change of government in Serbia will not have a major impact on the overall diplomatic relations, the ruling party has not changed, the cohesion between the government and the parliament is unprecedented, and the combination of Vučić and Vučević is somewhat similar to Putin and Medvedev, which can only be said to be the wishful thinking of Europe has failed again.
At the end of last year, during Serbia's parliamentary elections, supporters of opposition parties tried to break into the parliament building, causing mass riots. Vučić said on the spot: "There are attempts to carry out a 'color revolution' in Serbia. The last country that experienced a "color revolution" was Ukraine, and after Zelensky took office, Ukraine has also come to what it is today, and with the experience of the past, how can Serbia not be wary of the infiltration of the United States and Europe? Serbia's mood for wanting to join the EU is understandable, but it is for the sake of a more inclusive trade policy and an interconnected market, rather than being politically and militarily vassal to Europe.
During his tenure as defense minister, Vucevic imported advanced weapons systems such as China's KF-3 anti-aircraft missiles, Hongqi-17A field air defense systems, and CH-95 unmanned aerial vehicles. This year, China will deliver air defense systems and export drones to Serbia as scheduled, and will be able to achieve initial combat capability by the end of the year at the earliest, which will play a solid role in the country's efforts to safeguard Kosovo's sovereignty and give it some more confidence in negotiations with Europe. It is impossible for Vucevic not to be unaware of this friendship, and this is only part of the close cooperation between the two sides.
In fact, the attitude of the whole of Europe towards China is "love and hate", which can be glimpsed from the long-term capricious and tangled attitude of Germany, France, Italy and the European Union towards China. On the one hand, Europe has to follow the footsteps of the United States politically in order to consolidate the so-called "global order", and on the other hand, the EU lacks a large manufacturing base like Canada and Mexico, and it is difficult to support itself economically. Therefore, many countries hope that the China-Europe Railway Express and the "Belt and Road" initiative can benefit more regions.
As a European country, Serbia has the first qualification to taste the "grapes" sent by China, in addition to special historical opportunities, mainly from the country's more "independent" political line. As long as we can make the "grapes" bigger and sweeter with peace of mind, Serbia's development will naturally become a business card for China to stimulate the vitality of the European economy, and more friends will throw out "olive branches".
