Yang Hucheng had a total of 3 wives in his life, namely the first wife Luo Peilan, the second wife Zhang Huilan, and the third wife Xie Baozhen.
Compared with these two women with legendary lives, Yang Hucheng's second wife Zhang Huilan is a little unknown, her marriage with Yang Hucheng is an arranged marriage by her parents, there is no love at all, and she herself belongs to a more traditional woman, there is not much knowledge and culture, but she is such an ordinary woman, after Yang Hucheng died, she was unmarried for half her life, and raised Yang Hucheng's 6 children wholeheartedly, supporting the Yang family.
The combination of Yang Hucheng and Zhang Huilan
Yang Hucheng was born in 1893 in a poor family in Shaanxi, and lived very poor since he was a child, so Yang Hucheng only studied private school for two years, and was forced by life, and had to drop out of school to help in a restaurant in the town to subsidize the family, originally with the help of Yang Hucheng, the family's life has improved, but there are unforeseen circumstances, when Yang Hucheng was 15 years old, his father was hanged by the Qing court for committing murder.
After the death of his father, the life of Yang Hucheng's family became even worse, even worse, and even in order to raise money to bury his father, Yang Hucheng and his mother also needed to ask for the help of the villagers everywhere, so that the most people buried their father safely, that is, in the process of raising money to bury his father, Yang Hucheng had a whim, and after his father was buried, he began to call on some poor people to establish a filial piety association together.
The original intention of this filial piety will be very simple, is a funeral mutual aid organization, which family has died, everyone will work together to help, everyone collects firewood and the flame is high, many people help together, many things can be solved naturally, under the influence of this original intention, soon the filial piety will gather a large number of people to join, at that time Yang Hucheng organized and commanded more than 100 people of the filial piety association, practiced a good organizational ability, and laid the foundation for the future career.
After the Wuchang Uprising, Yang Hucheng resolutely joined the revolutionary army with his own team and began to fight against the Qing army, and later Yuan Shikai stole the fruits of the victory of the revolution, Yang Hucheng and others were forced to become swordsmen, and only officially joined the Shaanxi Protector Army in 1915 to crusade against Yuan Shikai, Yang Hucheng performed well and became the commander of the 1st Battalion of the 3rd Mixed Regiment of the Shaanxi Army, and since then he has started his revolutionary career.
When he became the battalion commander, Yang Hucheng was only 22 years old, he was definitely young and promising, such a young man, of course, was very popular, that is, during Yang Hucheng's time as the battalion commander, he met a Shaanxi businessman Zhang Ximing, the two chatted very well, Zhang Ximing also admired Yang Hucheng very much, so the two often walked around.
One day in 1916, Yang Hucheng went to Zhang Ximing's house and saw a young, beautiful and talented woman, this woman was Luo Peilan, she was originally from Sichuan, and her parents had business dealings with Zhang Ximing, so they recognized Zhang Ximing as their father-in-law, and they came to Shaanxi.
The two can be regarded as love at first sight, Yang Hucheng soon found Zhang Ximing and explained his heart to Luo Peilan, Zhang Ximing originally admired Yang Hucheng, and without thinking about it, he directly made the decision for Luo Peilan's parents for Luo Peilan, and agreed to this family affair, so that Yang Hucheng and Luo Peilan would marry and become husband and wife.
When Yang Hucheng got married, his mother did not go to Dali County to participate in their wedding due to poor health, but stayed in his hometown, Yang Hucheng did not have the opportunity to go home to visit his mother because of too many things, and it was not until 1919, three years after marriage, that Yang Hucheng finally had time to go home to visit his mother.
After seeing Yang Hucheng, the mother said a more difficult thing, it turned out that when Yang Hucheng and Luo Peilan got married, the mother had already found a girl for Yang Hucheng in the village, and the two parents had already negotiated the marriage, when the mother was sick, it was this girl who was taking care of her wholeheartedly, and this girl was Zhang Huilan.
I heard that Yang Hucheng was married, Zhang Huilan's family did not blame Yang Hucheng, but also said that they were willing to let Zhang Huilan be a partial house, they thought that a young and promising man like Yang Hucheng could have three wives and four concubines as in the past, and I have to say that this is also a manifestation of the serious influence of feudal ideology.
At the request of his mother and Zhang Huilan's family, Yang Hucheng could only marry Zhang Huilan, but after marriage, Yang Hucheng quickly returned to the army, leaving Zhang Huilan to take care of his mother at home.
The intersection of Zhang Huilan and Luo Peilan
After Yang Hucheng went home in 1919 and married Zhang Huilan, he didn't see Zhang Huilan for three years, time flew quickly, and it was 1922 in a blink of an eye.
But after all, the two still have to meet, in 1922, Luo Peilan fell ill while she was pregnant, and there was no one to take care of her on the battlefield, Yang Hucheng had no choice but to send her back to her hometown to let her mother and Zhang Huilan help take care of her temporarily, at first her mother and Yang Hucheng were worried that the two women would not get along, but the real situation was completely unexpected.
Luo Peilan heard that Zhang Huilan and Yang Hucheng got married, and it was completely arranged by her parents, and Yang Hucheng left Zhang Huilan after marriage, so Luo Peilan was full of sympathy and guilt for Zhang Huilan, so after seeing Zhang Huilan, Luo Peilan was very friendly.
Zhang Huilan herself is a traditional woman, virtuous and sensible, not fighting or grabbing, after seeing Luo Peilan, she said that she would serve her sister well, if she did not serve well, I hope Luo Peilan pointed out that the two were originally sisters, but Zhang Huilan said that she was serving Luo Peilan, which is enough to see how low her status is, and it is naturally easy for such people to get along.
After a short period of time together, the two are just like sisters, which is not expected by Yang's mother and Yang Hucheng, under the care of Zhang Huilan, Luo Peilan successfully gave birth to Yang Hucheng's first son Yang Zhengmin, this name is the meaning of saving Li Min.
After Luo Peilan gave birth to the child, Zhang Huilan took care of her wholeheartedly after the confinement, Luo Peilan felt that her body had recovered, and she was going to find Yang Hucheng, at that time, Zhang Huilan specially accompanied Luo Peilan to Yang Hucheng, and the two took more than ten days to go to Yang Hucheng, Yang Hucheng was very moved by this, and expressed the hope that Zhang Huilan would stay and live with everyone, but Zhang Huilan said that she wanted to go home to take care of her mother, and she reluctantly stayed for two days and went home.
In 1924, after Luo Peilan gave birth to her second child, she contracted tuberculosis, and in desperation, Yang Hucheng sent her eldest son Yang Zhengmin back to his hometown for Zhang Huilan to take care of, and Luo Peilan was placed in Sanyuan County to recuperate. In 1926, during the "Two Tigers Guarding Chang'an" incident, the enemy planned to go to Yang Hucheng's hometown to capture Yang Hucheng's family as hostages to threaten Yang Hucheng, but when they arrived, they found it empty.
It turned out that Zhang Huilan had already guessed that someone would do this, so she took her mother and Yang Zhengmin to Sanyuan County to find Luo Peilan, so she escaped a catastrophe, Luo Peilan at this time was already terminally ill, and at the time of parting, she took Zhang Huilan's hand and handed over the two children to Zhang Huilan.
Raising 6 children in Yang Hucheng
With the support of Feng Yuxiang, the siege of Xi'an was finally averted, and Yang Hucheng was able to continue to live his life, after Luo Peilan's death, Yang Hucheng met Xie Baozhen, a young woman with revolutionary ideals and ambitions, and the two fell in love at first sight, and finally married in 1928, Xie Baozhen and Yang Hucheng's wife who had been with him for the longest time, gave birth to 2 sons and 5 daughters for Yang Hucheng.
In 1931, Zhang Huilan gave birth to her first biological son, which can be regarded as a complete life, but after the outbreak of the Xi'an Incident in 1936, Zhang Huilan was too busy and neglected to take care of her child, which caused the child to fall ill and died after being sent to the hospital.
After the death of her own son, Zhang Huilan's excessive grief led to delirium, and began to become a little trance, Yang Hucheng was already controlled by Chiang Kai-shek at that time, and there was no way to go home, so he could only ask his eldest son Yang Zhengmin to take Zhang Huilan to Beiping for treatment, but the effect was very small.
During Zhang Huilan's treatment, Yang Hucheng was forced by Chiang Kai-shek to take Xie Baozhen and his 7-year-old son Yang Zhengzhong to Europe and the United States for inspection, and the other four children stayed at Xie Baozhen's mother's house. In 1937, after the Lugou Bridge Incident, everyone's anti-Japanese sentiment was high, but Yang Zhengmin's casual words made Zhang Huilan miraculously sober up.
After Yang Hucheng and Xie Baozhen went to Europe and the United States, Zhang Huilan went to Xie Baozhen's hometown to take over the four children to raise by herself, plus the original Luo Peilan's two children, Zhang Huilan took care of a total of 6 children, as well as Yang Hucheng's mother.
After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Yang Hucheng applied to return to China to resist the war, but before he came back, he was put under house arrest by Dai Li, and since then Yang Hucheng has been imprisoned for 12 years, and Yang Hucheng was imprisoned together, as well as his wife Xie Baozhen and son Yang Zhengzhong, as well as his daughter Yang Zhenggui, who was born in 1941.
In 1947, Xie Baozhen died in Yangjiashan Prison in Chongqing, some people say that she died of illness, but some people say that she was forced to swallow gold and died.
In September 1949, on the eve of the liberation of Chongqing, Yang Hucheng and a pair of sons and daughters, as well as Xiao Radish and others, were killed by military agents at the Dai Gong Temple in Chongqing, which was miserable. After Yang Hucheng died, it was Zhang Huilan who grew up with his 6 children.
If there is no Zhang Huilan, Yang Hucheng's 6 children may not survive at all, and it is impossible to unite together, Zhang Huilan spent half her life raising and taking care of 6 children who are not her own, such selfless dedication, moving, after the six children grew up, they have always been full of gratitude to Zhang Huilan, it can be said that if there is no Zhang Huilan, there will be no home for Yang Hucheng's children.
Yang Hucheng's six children, under the nurturing of Zhang Huilan, have become the pillars of the country, among which the eldest son Yang Zhengmin devoted himself to the revolution, before the liberation of Xi'an, was already the commander of the Shaanxi Dali Army Division of the People's Liberation Army, after the liberation, Yang Zhengmin devoted himself to the petroleum industry, becoming the first generation of heroes in China's petroleum industry.
It can be said that although Zhang Huilan did not have any vigorous feats in her life, she was able to raise Yang Hucheng's six children in obscurity and raise them to become the pillars of the country, which is really a great act, and this greatness is very within the reach of human perseverance.
On February 7, 1993, Zhang Huilan died of illness at the age of 88, she originally had no vigorous revolutionary experience, but she was buried in the "General Yang Hucheng Martyrs Cemetery" with the approval of the state.
epilogue
Zhang Huilan is a traditional Chinese woman, she does not have much knowledge and culture, but she is virtuous and sensible, and pays in obscurity, even if Yang Hucheng owes Zhang Huilan's life, but Zhang Huilan has never regretted it, after Yang Hucheng died, she did not hesitate to go all out to take care of the 6 children left by Yang Hucheng who were not her own flesh and blood, such a woman, although it seems ordinary, is actually great enough!
