From May 3rd to 5th, the original drama "Gui Street", produced by Beijing Performing Arts Group and jointly planned and launched by the Propaganda Department of the Dongcheng District Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Dongcheng District Culture and Tourism Bureau and the Beijing Children's Art Theater, will start the first round of performances at the Nanluo Theater.
As a new drama with the IP of Guijie in Dongcheng District as the background, the play is also another important cooperation project between Dongcheng District of Beijing and Beijing Performing Arts Group in the cultural field. Through the cross-narrative technique spanning 18 years, it presents the audience with the life of the people in the famous food check-in place "Gui Street" in the east city of Beijing, "Indigenous and North Drift", "Marriage and Love", "Lover and Brother", "Dream and Reality", these four ordinary and touching stories, showing the life of the city of Beijing and the people of Beijing, allowing the audience to draw strength from simplicity and warmth.
It is reported that the drama "Gui Street" was created collectively under the leadership of Wang Ze, a young director of Beijing children's art, and showed real life on the stage in the form of group portraits. The plot is made up of several independent and interconnected stories, with distinctive characters, covering a variety of identities and different age groups, so that the audience can see themselves or the people around them in the play. The stage distinguishes the story with neon, highly summarizes and perfectly reproduces the bright lights of Guijie at night, the characters in the play are exquisite and fashionable, and a folk theme song "Meet and Eat" sets a warm and hopeful tone for the play, which is impressive.
Talking about the original intention of creation, Wang Ze, the director and screenwriter of the play, said: "As a very representative food landmark in Beijing, Guijie is a 'platform', some people get on the train and some leave; it is also a 'stage', the curtain opens when night falls, and it is still a 'mirror', never waiting silently. Gui Street is a place to eat, there will always be people in the place to eat, and there will always be stories in the place where there are people. We will tell the stories that happened or may happen on Gui Street in the most peaceful and simple way, in order to pay tribute to the ordinary and hard-working people - Beijing City lives up to its dreams, and the night of Gui Street is the warmest for mortals. ”
Dong Ning, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Performing Arts Group and Chairman of Beijing Children's Art Theater, said: "The Nanluo version of the drama "Gui Street" is newly released, depicting the current Beijing picture scroll from the perspective of contemporary people. ”
As a living landmark in Beijing, Guijie not only carries the food culture, but also the Beijing flavor culture and the urban spirit of Beijing, reflecting the cultural landscape of Beijing's development and changes over the past 30 years through a landmark old street. In order to allow the audience to "take home" the tempting food and warm friendship in the play, and make the drama "eatable, usable and playable", outside the play, the crew also made great efforts to tailor cultural and creative gifts with plot and character settings - spice blind boxes and creative chopsticks. Each story in the play will be transformed into an unexpected and interesting exclusive seasoning package, so that the audience can not only harvest the surprise of opening the blind box on the spot, but also bring the beauty contained in the food into daily life, and chopsticks, as the most Chinese tableware, the audience can also use their own exclusive chopsticks while revisiting the love and touching in the play "Gui Street".
It is understood that the drama "Gui Street" is another adult drama work since the opening of Nanluo Theater, following the suspense drama "Reconnaissance", the love drama "Butterfly is Free", and the immersive drama "Peking 1948". As a cultural landmark in the Nanluoguxiang area, Nanluo Theater has been committed to creating a "new performing arts space" with "taste in repertoire, positioning for the troupe, and location for the theater". It is also a well-known business district in the east city of Beijing, and Nanluoguxiang and Guijie are less than 2 kilometers apart, one vertical and one horizontal, one west and one east. Through a drama "Gui Street", the creator organically combines the two cultural tourism hotspots, which is another new attempt by Nanluo Theater to enhance the literary and artistic temperament of tourist attractions with dramatic art.
The launch of the original drama "Gui Street" is an innovative move to help the construction of the "City of Performing Arts" and polish the cultural business card of "Beijing with big operas". In recent years, Dongcheng District has vigorously implemented the "Literary Peak" action, and has successively launched the drama "Bell and Drum Tower", "Fourteen Days", "Stenographer", "Shangganling" and other literary and artistic works that promote the main theme, combined with the major themes of the times, and jointly launched the TV series "Hutong", the movie "Revolutionary", and the variety show "Ten Thousand Miles to Ride Alone" Central Axis Special and other literary and artistic masterpieces. In the next step, Dongcheng District will closely follow the theme of the times, focus on the culture of the ancient capital, adhere to the concept of "Chongwen Striving for the First", deeply cultivate the "fertile soil" of culture, tell the story of life and struggle under the tide of the times in the form of literature and art, and write a vivid chapter of Dongcheng for the construction of the national cultural center.
