Upstream News learned from China Railway 12306 that from June 15, 2024, Wuhan-Guangzhou Railway Passenger Dedicated Line Co., Ltd. will increase the announced fares of EMU trains with a speed of 300 kilometers per hour and above running on the Wuhan-Guangzhou section of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, and the full ticket price of the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway will increase by about 20%. On May 2, the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway announced the above information.
In addition to the price increase of Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway, Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway Passenger Line Co., Ltd., Shanghai-Kunming Railway Passenger Line Zhejiang Co., Ltd., Shanghai-Kunming Railway Passenger Line Jiangxi Co., Ltd., Shanghai-Kunming Railway Passenger Line Hunan Co., Ltd., and Hangzhou-Ningbo Railway Passenger Line Co., Ltd. all issued announcements on May 2 to increase the fare of their operating high-speed rail lines from June 15.
The Shanghai-Hangzhou passenger special increased the current ticket price of 73 yuan to 87 yuan for the second-class seat from Shanghai Hongqiao to Hangzhou East, an increase of 19.18%; the Shanghai-Kunming passenger special increased the fare of its routes in Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Hunan, such as the current fare of 405 yuan for the second-class seat from Hangzhou East to Changsha South to 485 yuan, an increase of 19.75%, and the current 257 yuan ticket price for the second-class seat from Hangzhou South to Nanchang West to 308 yuan, an increase of 19.84%; Hangzhou-Ningbo passenger special will increase the current ticket price of 71 yuan for the second-class seat from Hangzhou East to Ningbo to 85 yuan, an increase of 19.72%.
According to China Business Daily, the customer service of the 12306 website said that from June 15, 2024, the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway will raise prices. Regarding the fare discount policy, the customer service said that the discount floating strategy will be determined by the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway according to the season, passenger flow intensity and other factors, and the specific discount standard passengers can be informed through the page display when purchasing tickets on the 12306 website, and the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway will not announce the discount standard, discount time and other information in advance. The customer service of the 12306 website emphasized that if the discount is not displayed on the ticket purchase page of the 12306 website, then the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway will start from June 15, and the ticket price for the whole journey will be 553 yuan.
