On a field training ground of a mobile detachment of the Shandong Armed Police Corps, a practical anti-chemical warfare drill of "dancing with drugs" quietly began.
"After receiving an order from a superior, there is a danger of chemical leakage in a certain area, and our department needs to quickly go forward to deal with it!" "Let's go!" According to the requirements of the task, as the backbone of the anti-chemical reconnaissance specialty, Shi Weida needs to lead all the comrades in the class to carry out the practical training and assessment of the "applied drug detection" subject. The course stipulates that within 10 minutes, the on-site detection of unknown poisons at 5 poison detection points should be completed at a distance of 60 meters, and the type of poison can be successfully identified.
As a battle-hardened Shi Weida is a little worried at the moment, because the "sharp knife class" he led has just been supplemented with two recruits not long ago, and due to the lack of practical training experience of the new comrades, this assessment is a big challenge for both the recruits and the entire class.
Simulate dangerous situations and deduce sand tables...... Every link was tightly knit, and Shi Weida led the other members of the team to quickly go to the area where the incident occurred after assigning the task on the spot. At first, the mission went very smoothly, but when the last poison spot was detected, the two recruits still did not detect the type of poison due to their lack of experience.
Seeing this situation, Shi Weida quickly went to comfort the recruits' nervousness, carefully taught step by step, and finally successfully completed the team task in only 3 minutes and 47 seconds, nearly 2 times faster than the specified time.
"The anti-chemical warfare reconnaissance specialty is the sharp knife force of the anti-chemical warfare detachment, and drug detection is the housekeeping skill of the anti-chemical warfare reconnaissance. In the event of a chemical weapons attack, the detection of suspected poisons and the identification of the types of poisons are essential for the anti-chemical warfare forces to carry out their diversified tasks. After the exercise, Shi Weida told the author that he was not actually from a "professional class", but transferred from the duty unit to the professional military detachment in 2020, which means that everything has to start from scratch.
When I first arrived at the anti-chemical warfare squadron, it was a harsh winter, and I repeatedly practiced wearing gas armor, and the sweat still soaked through the clothes, but the results were not satisfactory, and I did not even meet the passing standard. I wanted to show my strength in the new unit, but the reality slapped him hard, and in his self-deprecating words, he was not even a qualified recruit.
The same is true for basic subjects, not to mention drug detection. Improper operation, timeout...... Problems are frequent, listening to the comforting words of his comrades-in-arms, he has a strong personality, although he said that it would be good to practice more, but his heart was hit hard.
"If you want to wear airtight gas suits, withstand the scorching sun, carry wind and sand, and accurately judge the type of poison, what is a test is the excellent professional ability and superhuman psychological quality of the anti-chemical warfare troops. In the face of the frustrated Shi Weida, the squadron instructor took the initiative to talk to him and cheer him on.
Since then, he has changed his training thinking, starting with equipment, and in his spare time, he holds military training materials and operating equipment on the one hand, and begins to learn from basic attributes such as composition and performance. In just one month, he not only became a "little instructor of theoretical knowledge" of the squadron, but also became an "expert" in repairing weapons and equipment, and the damaged equipment took on a new look.
The cold snow, wind, and cold knives make it difficult to stop the heat of military training. In the ice and snow, he braved the cold and carried out drug detection training in the heavy snow. Although his hands were red from the cold and his fingers were already stiff, he still used all his strength to knock the tube and check the type of poison.
In order to better grasp the essentials of the action, he also increased the difficulty for himself - set up a smoke barrier area, under the double test of smoke and cold wind, he cut his fingers countless times, and blood flowed down his fingertips, but he didn't think so, and said: "Now the valuable experience exchanged for blood can only defeat the enemy on the battlefield." ”
For Shi Weida, his "ingenuity" is to tirelessly rush into the battlefield of drug infection again and again, and it is the colorful drug test tubes in his hand.
In December 2022, Shi Weida successfully completed the assessment with a full score in the professional assessment of drug detection in the corps, and other members of the team led by him were all rated excellent. The taciturn and unsmiling squad leader smiled with satisfaction.
In July 2023, in the "Red and Blue Confrontation" exercise organized by the detachment, Shi Weida took the initiative to ask Ying to serve as the squadron commander. In the process of directing and dispatching, he took the initiative to design the plan to match the piloting ability with the task, and completed the tasks of the Blue Army's conditioning and section control with high standards, accumulating rich experience in the piloting and dispatching for the squadron.
At the same time, he actively played the role of "passing on the help and guidance", and taught the professional knowledge he learned to his comrades in the squadron, making up for the shortcomings and weaknesses in professional training in a timely manner, and laying a solid foundation for the next step of training.
"There is a golden house in the book, and the officers and soldiers of the armed police in the new era must not only be able to fight, but also be able to write. As the coach of the "Four Sessions" of the detachment, he knows very well that practice alone is not enough, and it is necessary to have a solid theoretical foundation.
During the field training, when the soldiers dragged their tired bodies to sleep early, a beam of light pierced the silent night, and it turned out that Shi Weida was "reading at night".
Someone asked him why he had to work overtime to study at night when he was so tired from training, and he said with a smile: "The night is baptized by the sea breeze wrapped in yellow sand, and the tiredness of the day is swept away, and I have to work hard to be the coach of the 'four clubs' of the general team." ”
In the past nine years, Shi Weida has written nine military theory books intensively, summed up more than 30,000 words of experience in common problems and corrective methods in anti-chemical warfare professional training, and led the troops to effectively solve teaching problems and greatly improve the level of actual combat in the troops.
"There is no mountain higher than a man, and there is no road longer than a foot". The road to becoming a "pioneer in the defense of chemical warfare" is bound to be difficult and long. Sticking to his ordinary post, he interprets the meaning of his camouflage career with his actions and marks the scale of life with sweat.
