No wonder Sanqing didn't dare to provoke Bodhi, you see what Bodhi said when teaching Sun Wukong's spells

author:Academy of Literature and History

The Sanqing Gui is the supreme god of Taoism, and nominally the cultivators of the Three Realms are all under their rule, but in fact, there is a great god who is independent of the rule of the Sanqing.

This great god is the Bodhi Patriarch, the Bodhi Patriarch is a Taoist god who lives in seclusion in Lingtai Fangcun Mountain, with unfathomable mana cultivation, and, unlike what people imagine, he is actually not so low-key, and his missionary career is in full swing in Fangcun Mountain.

In the first episode of the original work, Sun Wukong traveled all over the world to find famous teachers to learn from him, and when he came to Fangcun Mountain, Lingshan, he met a woodcutter who was chopping wood. The woodcutter told Sun Wukong, "There is a three-star cave with a slanting moon nearby, and there is an old immortal in the cave, named Bodhi Patriarch, and there are countless apprentices of the patriarch, and there are still thirty or forty people practicing from him."

The woodcutter said that there are still thirty or forty people who follow the Bodhi Patriarch to practice, and don't think that there are only thirty or forty disciples of the Bodhi Patriarch, in fact, these thirty or forty people are just a generation of disciples of the Bodhi Patriarch.

So, how many generations of disciples did Patriarch Bodhi teach?

Under the guidance of the woodcutter, Sun Wukong found the three-star cave of the slanting moon and worshiped under the Bodhi Patriarch as he wished. When Patriarch Bodhi learned that he did not have a name at that time, he decided to give him a name and said, "There are twelve characters in my door, namely, Guang, Da, Zhi, Hui, Zhen, Ru, Xing, Hai, Ying, Wu, Yuan, and Jue. Lined up to you, just understand the word. Would you like to name you Monkey King?"

Sun Wukong's Wu character is the word of the tenth generation disciple of Bodhi Patriarch, and we know that Sun Wukong is the little apprentice of Bodhi Patriarch, it can be seen that Bodhi Patriarch has taught ten generations of disciples.

There are thirty or forty disciples in one generation, and three or four hundred disciples in ten generations, and Bodhi Patriarch can have three or four hundred talented disciples, among which there must be no shortage of masters like Sun Wukong, so it can be seen that it is not an exaggeration to call him the head of the Fangcun Mountain Immortal Cultivation Group.

As mentioned earlier, the Bodhi Patriarch is independent of the rule of the Three Qings, which means that the Fangcunshan Xiuxian group is a separatist force that is not subject to the rule of the Taoist group. As the head of the Taoist group, Sanqing naturally did not want to see the Bodhi Patriarch divide one side, but what is strange is that they never provoked the Bodhi Patriarch, and allowed him to divide the power in Lingtai Fangcun Mountain and fight against the Taoist group.

Speaking of which, everyone must be very curious, why did Sanqing, as the supreme god of Taoism, dare not provoke the Bodhi Patriarch? We can see the clues from the words of the Bodhi Patriarch when he taught Sun Wukong's skills.

In the second chapter of the original work, after Sun Wukong studied Taoist theoretical knowledge in Sanxingdong for seven years, Patriarch Bodhi decided to teach him his skills and asked: "There are three hundred and sixty gates in the Taoist character gate, and all of them have positive fruits, I don't know which one you want to learn?"

Bodhi Patriarch asked Sun Wukong to choose skills from the three hundred and sixty Taoist sects to learn, it can be seen that he is proficient in all the spells of the three hundred and sixty sects of the Taoist family, after all, if he is not proficient in one of them, he will not let Sun Wukong choose like this, in case Sun Wukong chooses him, wouldn't it be very embarrassing?

And we know that the Taoist spells are all created by the Sanqing, and since the Bodhi Patriarch has all the spells of the 360 sects of the Jingdao family, it can be seen that his Taoist cultivation is not comparable to the Sanqing.

However, this does not mean that Patriarch Bodhi and Sanqing are equal in strength. Because of the Bodhi Patriarch's dual cultivation of Taoism and Buddhism, in addition to the Jingdao family magic, he also has a high attainment in Buddhism, so his strength may be stronger than that of Sanqing.

It is not difficult to understand why Sanqing did not dare to provoke the Bodhi Patriarch and bring the Fangcunshan Immortal Cultivation Group under the rule of the Taoist group, because they were not the opponents of the Bodhi Patriarch, and once they provoked the Bodhi Patriarch, they would be defeated. What do you think?
