The vision of the competition was to erect a monument to Schindler's Ark survivors, to preserve the legacy of Schindler's Ark, and to create a modern museum dedicated to Holocaust survivors. At the same time, the south side of the site will be redeveloped into sustainable community housing to meet the needs of the area.
The project's sustainable design strategy entailed a combination of a survivor's museum, a large-scale employment workshop including a spinning mill, and a prototype of modern sustainable housing that aligned with the needs of the community.

Functionality and unused space need to be rethought. The opening of this Plovdiv landmark to the public is essential for its socialization and preservation. The aim of the competition was to identify and select a function suitable for future development, which would serve as the basis for the resocialization of the building, becoming a recognizable and valuable element of the cultural infrastructure of Plovdiv. ”
Located about 130 kilometers southeast of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria with about 346,000 inhabitants. The three-storey former Bulgarian National Bank building is currently divided into two separate buildings, half of which are branches of the Bulgarian UniCredit Bank.
