Early life experience
Chen Geng, formerly known as Chen Shukang, a native of Xiangxiang, Hunan, his grandfather was a general of the Hunan Army, and he can be regarded as a general.
After studying in private school and a few days of elementary school, 13-year-old Chen Geng joined the Hunan army and participated in the campaign against warlords and the expulsion of Zhang and Zhao in Hunan.
At the time of the expulsion of Zhang Jingyao and Zhao Hengti, Chairman Mao was also a progressive youth in Hunan and also participated in these two movements, but the two did not know each other at that time.
After four years as a soldier, 17-year-old Chen Geng was already a sergeant, and he was also considered a dragon and phoenix among people, but he gradually realized that China's problems were not above the sword soldiers, and then he worked as a clerk in the Changsha Railway Bureau, and then began to cram for the cultural knowledge that had fallen before.

In the same year, Chen Geng joined the Communist Party of China, and later participated in the strike of the Hunan 27 Massacre.
In 1924, Chen Geng studied at the Guangzhou Army Martial Arts School, and was admitted to the first phase of the Whampoa Military Academy in the same year.

Chen Geng thought very simply at that time, Chiang Kai-shek was the nominal leader, and if he died, this battle would be leaderless, and it would be even more difficult to win.

In this way, Chen Geng persuaded Lao Jiang who begged for death, and then directly carried him on his back, because at this time Lao Jiang was already deeply encircled by the enemy.
Chen Geng carried Lao Jiang on his back and ran more than 160 miles in one day and one night, and finally contacted Premier Zhou, who immediately sent people to support, which rescued Lao Jiang.

But after the 412 counter-revolutionary coup, Chen Geng knew that Lao Jiang was hopeless, so he came directly to the ranks of our party and participated in the Nanchang Uprising.
In the Nanchang Uprising, Chen Geng's leg was seriously injured, his tibia was fractured, and his tendons were also broken.
Later, Chen Geng also changed his revolutionary way, because of his leg injury, Chen Geng was treated many times, and recovered in 1928, and came to Shanghai Central Special Branch after recovery.
Since Chen Geng had worked in the Kuomintang for a long time before, it was very suitable for him to take up the underground work of our party.
Chen Geng worked in the Shanghai Central Special Branch for four years, during which time he also held positions in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Soviet Region and the Red Fourth Front Army, and participated in the third anti-"encirclement and suppression" battle.
Unlike other Communist Party members, Chen Geng was registered in both the old Chiang and the Kuomintang, and I don't know how many old classmates and subordinates knew him.

On March 24, 1933, Chen Geng was arrested by Kuomintang agents in Shanghai, and Chiang Kai-shek directly asked to see Chen Geng by name, so Chen Geng was brought to Lao Chiang without any punishment.

General Chen Geng's sense of humor
In March 1933, General Chen Geng was captured by Kuomintang agents and brought to Lao Chiang.

Maybe it was too much pressure, maybe Chiang Kai-shek read that Chen Geng had saved his old feelings, so he let Chen Geng live under house arrest in a hotel outside, which was equivalent to indirectly letting him go.
Subsequently, Chen Geng escaped from the hotel and returned to the ranks of the Red Army with the help of our party.
In October 1934, Chen Geng participated in many battles with the Central Red Army on the Long March and made great contributions.
During the Anti-Japanese War, Chen Geng served as the brigade commander of the 386th Brigade of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army, which was the prototype of the brigade commander that Li Yunlong was most afraid of in the bright sword.
Needless to say, how capable the 129th Division is, he, the commander of the 386th Brigade, is naturally prestigious.
In the early stage of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, our party had a very difficult life, not only needing to transport supplies to the base areas behind enemy lines, but also finding ways to open up wasteland for self-sufficiency.

However, Chen Geng is one of the few people who is not afraid of Mr. Peng, and he also thought of a clever plan, that is, to let the soldiers touch some fish in the river, and find someone to buy a chicken from the villagers.
Chen Geng asked the cook to knead the fish and chicken together and make them into balls, and as for the things that Mr. Peng eats, he is responsible for himself.
Soon, Chen Geng found Mr. Peng and told him that the soldiers went down to the river to fish, and they wanted Mr. Peng to make up for their bodies.

Because Mr. Peng's work pressure was very high at that time, it was definitely not a way to lose weight day after day, Chen Geng saw it in his eyes and was anxious in his heart, but he quickly thought of a good way.
One day, Mr. Peng made an appointment with Chen Geng to come to him for a small meeting, and the two were going to study the form of the front-line battlefield.

After arriving in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh's hospitality to Chen Geng can be described as nuanced, in the words of General Chen Geng: bananas, lemons, coffee after meals, pineapple before bedtime. A small banquet in five hours, a large banquet in ten hours.
