On February 27, the Law of the People's Republic of China on Guarding State Secrets (hereinafter referred to as the "Secrecy Law") was amended and adopted by the Eighth Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress and will come into force on May 1, 2024. The current revision of the State Secrets Law has elevated the mature and effective policy measures and practical experience of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) into a legal system, laying a solid foundation for safeguarding the security of state secrets.
