Notice of Solicitation of Juvenile Paintings

The majority of young friends:

At present, under the influence of global warming caused by human activities, natural disasters and extreme weather occur frequently, bringing huge losses to human production and life. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is the world's first international treaty to comprehensively control greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide to cope with the adverse effects of global warming on the human economy and society, and is also a basic framework for international cooperation in addressing global climate change. Since 1995, a Conference of the Parties has been organized annually to discuss the response. From November 11 to 22 this year, the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, once again igniting the global enthusiasm and determination to address climate change. On September 22, 2020, the Chinese government put forward the strategic goal of "carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060", and the Investment Association of China, as an observer of the Framework Convention, adhered to the concept of green development and launched the "Zero Carbon China Initiative" on January 11, 2020, guiding all sectors of society to demonstrate their firm determination to build a beautiful China with concrete actions.

In order to show teenagers' understanding of climate change in a more realistic, comprehensive and vivid way, and stimulate teenagers' imagination of a zero-carbon world in the future, the Energy Investment Committee of the China Investment Association and the Zero Carbon China Research Center of the China Investment Association are now soliciting paintings with the theme of "zero carbon" from teenagers across the country. This solicitation activity is not only a journey of artistic creation, but also a guide for teenagers to start from their daily lives and outline a beautiful vision for a zero-carbon future in their hearts.

First, the theme of the event

With the theme of "Zero Carbon China, Beautiful Homeland", this event depicts a zero-carbon future in my heart with a brush. It is hoped that by participating in this event, the teenagers can have a deeper understanding of the response to climate change and the "double carbon" goal, and jointly inject fresh energy into the construction of a beautiful China.

Second, the form of the activity

The form of the activity is mainly color paintings, which can be created by various painting media such as watercolor painting, oil painting, colored pencil drawing, oil pastel, etc.

3. The content of the work (including but not limited to)

Zero-carbon city: It can depict the scene of a future city fully realizing the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and embody the future urban space of "green + digital intelligence" from energy, architecture, transportation, etc.

Zero-carbon villages: It can depict the new style of new rural construction, and reflect the various production, lifestyles and beautiful home scenarios adopted by modern rural areas in using clean energy, reducing pollution and reducing carbon emissions.

Zero-carbon parks: It can depict how various types of industrial parks in the city use new materials and technologies to achieve zero-carbon transformation of modern industrial production parks, including digital energy management systems, especially the old parks that have become zero-carbon and green parks after transformation.

Zero-carbon factory: In the process of rapid development of modern industry, it can depict how the factory uses green electricity and energy-saving and emission reduction measures in the production and manufacturing process, so as to make the factory an intelligent, green and zero-carbon factory with reduced manpower, and produce green products.

Zero-carbon campus: It can depict the various emission reduction measures taken by the campus in terms of water saving, electricity saving, energy saving, etc., and imagine the scenario of the future campus fully achieving zero carbon.

Zero-carbon life: It can depict how people change their lifestyles in their lives, show zero-carbon behaviors from clothing, food, housing, transportation and other aspects of life, and imagine the future zero-carbon social scene.

We hope that the majority of teenagers will take the initiative to learn zero-carbon knowledge by participating in this activity, and take the initiative to consult information or ask teachers when they encounter content they don't understand. In the process of creation, the knowledge learned is skillfully integrated into the paintings, so that the works not only show scientific connotation but also artistic expression.

IV. Submission Requirements:

1. Participants must be 3-12 years old.

2. All works must be completed on A4 paper.

3. Participants scan the completed painting and send it to the mailbox ([email protected]). The scanned document should be in JPEG or JPG format, with a resolution of 300dpi-600dpi, and the size should not be higher than 10MB.

4. The scanned documents of the painting works must be named after the "name of the work and the name of the author (subject to the ID card)", and each author is limited to 3 pieces.

5. When sending the work, please indicate the author's name, ID number, age, grade (class), school, and contact number in the email.

6. The painting must be original by the author himself, and it is strictly forbidden to use high imitation, ghostwriting, or plagiarism of others' works. Otherwise, any legal disputes or liabilities caused by this shall be borne by the author.

7. The deadline for submission of works is July 1, 2024 (subject to receipt by email).

8. After passing the review, you will receive an email notification of official selection, and if you do not pass the review, you will also receive an email notification (before August 1, 2024).

9. Those who have received the notification of selection should mail the original work to the following address before September 1st: Room B103, Guohong Building, Beili, Muxidi, Xicheng District, Beijing.

Fifth, your harvest

1. All contributors will receive a certificate of participation/acceptance and a "Zero Carbon Souvenir".

2. We will select the 12 most creative and expressive works, which will be included in the "Zero Carbon China Story" album and distributed at COP29. Selected candidates will receive a free copy.

3. Selected works will have the opportunity to be recommended to be exhibited at the COP29 China Corner Exhibition.

4. The organizer has the right to use all the works, which will be used for various promotional activities of Zero Carbon China.

Let us work together to paint a beautiful picture of a "zero-carbon China" and make actively responding to climate change a common action of the whole society.
