Don't "say hello" to me

Today, I'm going to talk about a few things that still bother me and more and more people are coming to me to "say hello".

The first one is about the journal iMeta. iMeta was co-founded by me and Professor Liu Yongxin and other colleagues, with Professor Fu Jingyuan and Professor Liu Shuangjiang as the editor-in-chief, and I served as the executive editor together with Professor Liu Yongxin, Professor Chen Tong and Dr. Li Danyi.

iMeta should get its first impact factor in June and is expected to exceed 20 points. Since iMeta was included in the ESCI database on December 19 last year, the number of submissions has increased significantly. The number of people who messaged me to "say hello" suddenly increased, and the most excessive was the (angry!) who asked me about the reviewer. For the latter, I made it clear that I would never ask about it, and the editorial office would never disclose any information about the reviewers.

From November 28, 2023, all articles will be included in ESCI since its inception

In addition, as a science communication media platform, "Warmheart" has set up two important awards, one is the "Heartwarming Scholarship" for young people, that is, graduate students, which is now jointly selected with iMeta and renamed the "Heartwarming ×iMeta Scholarship", and the other is "Heartwarmer ×iMeta Person of the Year". I've been getting a lot of messages lately asking me to take care of me during the judging process.

A similar situation has arisen in the process of organizing the intestinal congress. Since the Gut Congress already has an important international influence, there are some people who try to greet me in the hope of getting an oral presentation.

In fact, iMeta has a rigorous process of evaluation, review, revision, and acceptance, and each step is collectively reviewed by multiple people, and finally through rigorous peer review to ensure academic quality. In the same way, we strive to be rigorous, fair and impartial × the selection of the iMeta Scholarship and Person of the Year, as well as the call for submissions for the Gut Congress.

My main business is to do a good job in intestinal science communication and product innovation. My original intention in science communication is to serve academic experts and industry colleagues, rather than to participate in any non-standard behavior. Therefore, I will not reply in principle to those "hello" messages.

Of course, I understand these things, and not replying will not affect our friendship.
