Originated from a trip to Eryuan many years ago
In the summer of 2018, as a student of the third phase of the "Rongchang Talent Reserve Program" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Su Yan and more than 40 friends went to Eryuan, Yunnan Province to carry out summer practice research. Go to the village to do research, share learning methods with children, chat with college students and village officials about "the bowl of noodles brought by the aunt next door", and work in the fields with the cadres stationed in the village...... Their research trip was varied.

In 2021, as a member of the 23rd graduate student teaching group of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Zhang Chenyi went to Yuhu Junior High School in Eryuan County, Yunnan Province to carry out a one-year volunteer teaching work. Here, she taught more than 1,000 hours of English to two classes. Lesson preparation, teaching, home visits, Zhang Chenyi can't wait to spend every minute on students and go all out to teach every student well. What makes Zhang Chenyi proud is that she has helped many students who are tired of learning to re-realize the importance of learning, and have stimulated the endogenous motivation to study hard and grow hard.
Outside the classroom, the children's "Teacher Zhang" and the partners of the teaching group launched a series of rural education activities such as the Erhai Lake Protection Public Welfare Classroom, doing their best to add another force to the development of rural education. The work and life of a year of teaching made Zhang Chenyi fall in love with the "second hometown" of Eryuan.
Since then, Zhang Chenyi has made a small wish to set up a scholarship for children in the future.

On the occasion of graduation, the two agreed to donate a total of 50,000 yuan of scholarships such as the National Scholarship, the Guoling Public Welfare Scholarship, and the Shihui Leadership Scholarship that they have won since entering the school. Previously, Zhang Chenyi had already donated once when she was a student volunteer in the "Dunhuang Cultural Watcher" project.
The scholarship donated by Zhang Chenyi and Su Yan to Yuhu Middle School was named "Yuxiu Scholarship". "Yuxiu" is homophonic with the "jade" of Yuhu Middle School, implying that the school can cultivate more outstanding talents, and I wish the students can learn knowledge seriously and learn from their outstanding ancestors. I also hope that under the care of caring people from all walks of life, the mountains and rivers of Eryuan are beautiful and talents are numerous.
