Placing washing machines and sinks on balconies is a habit for many residents nowadays. However, this habit makes the sewage of the washing machine directly discharged into the balcony rainwater riser, and then discharged into the municipal pipe through the community rainwater pipe, which will cause rainwater and sewage mixing and environmental pollution.
When designing old residential areas, the sewer pipes of the kitchen and bathroom are usually incorporated into the sewage pipes, while the balconies generally have only one drainage outlet, which is connected to the rainwater pipe on the roof. Nowadays, in order to make reasonable use of space during decoration, many residents put the washing machine at home on the balcony and connect the drainage pipe to the rainwater pipe. How to treat balcony sewage has become an urgent problem to be solved.
The idea of treating balcony sewage is to grasp the source control with one hand, and set up floor drains and waste water risers on the balconies of newly built residences to avoid the generation of new balcony water pollution sources, and to grasp the rectification of existing communities with the other hand.
When the balcony and the roof downpipe share the riser, and there is a mixture of rain and sewage, the following methods can be used for renovation:
New roof rain downpipes, the original rain downpipes are changed to balcony waste pipes;
A new wastewater riser is built, and the mixed balcony wastewater is connected to the new wastewater riser through the horizontal branch pipe with a trap;
When the balcony rain downpipe is set up independently and there is a mixed connection of rain and sewage, the pipe should be connected to the corresponding outdoor sewage pipe;
For residential areas where new risers cannot be added, wastewater interception equipment can be added at the end of the existing rain downpipe.
