1. Pruning and topping. The first pruning is done in the spring at bud break, followed by summer pruning at the peak and end of flowering. Erase the unwanted shoots and other branches that deplete the tree from the trunk and inner trunk branches. When the new jujube head grows to 25~30 cm, topping is carried out to control the growth of developing branches, increase the growth of secondary branches, and promote fruit set.
2. Open armor (circumcision). For vigorous jujube trees, the phloem is cut off by opening the armor, so that the nutrients produced by the leaves are concentrated for flowering and fruit setting. Kaijia is suitable for trees with a diameter of 10~15 cm or more. The appropriate period for opening nails is the full flowering period. The specific method is: circumcision is carried out at a distance of 10~20 cm from the ground on the trunk, with a width of 0.3~0.5 cm, deep to the xylem, and the wound is covered with plastic film after peeling.
3. Rational control. Before flowering (in late April to early May), 0.5~0.75 kg of urea was applied to each large tree, 0.25 kg was applied to the initial fruiting tree, and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer was applied again during the young fruit development period after flowering (mid to late June), 0.75 kg per plant. Spraying 10~50% gibberellin solution at the beginning of flowering or 0.3% borax solution at the flowering stage can significantly improve the fruit setting rate.
4. Irrigate before flowering and spray water during flowering. If the soil is too dry before flowering, it should be irrigated in time to ensure stable fruit set. Spraying water every 2~3 days during the full flowering period of jujube trees can promote pollination and fertilization and improve fruit setting rate.
5. Put bees in the jujube orchard. Jujube flowers are typical insect-borne flowers, and bee release during the flowering period can improve the fruit setting rate. Generally, 1 box of bees is placed every 6 acres ~ 10 acres of jujube orchard.
