At the centralized distribution ceremony of police dogs, the trainers of the Police Dog Training and Application Brigade of Tianqu New District Bureau conducted odor perception tests, courage tests, and possessiveness tests on the police dogs on the spot, and carefully selected two puppies, the Malinoa dog and the Labrador.
"After we bring the puppies back, we must first cultivate their feelings with the trainer, and then carry out long-term training, mainly to exercise and examine their motivation, endurance and search enthusiasm, as well as the desire to pick up objects and other characteristics, these characteristics are also the key factors to test whether a puppy can grow into a qualified police dog and whether it can 'go to work'. Li Xindong said that when the puppies grow to two or three months old, the training of puppies will begin.
In the process of young training, the food power, hunting power, courage, and stress resistance will be tested and trained, such as in the object game, the dog should follow the instinct and get excited, and the sound test requires the puppy to suppress the instinct, not to be moved by the outside world, and calmly face the crowd, cars and even firecrackers. Nursery training continues until the puppy is five or six months old. After the trained dog has undergone young training, it has a certain desire to lead, possession and territorial awareness.
According to the personality and characteristics of police dogs, different breeds of police dogs have different "division of labor". "This is mainly to train the police dog's bouncing ability, obedience and cooperation with the handler, many police dogs are reluctant to go up when climbing the ladder over the obstacle ladder training. Through rewards, the dog is repeatedly stimulated to be trained, so that it gradually forms a habit. After completing the basic training subjects, we will carry out targeted intensive training according to the characteristics of the police dog itself, and this training will be repeated dozens of times a day. "After the basic subject training, we will enter the actual combat subject training, including tracking, identification, search, etc., through the obstacle setting to upgrade the difficulty of training, and constantly improve the comprehensive ability of police dogs. All dogs are aggressive, and police dogs react much faster than humans. Sometimes the police dog gets excited, the gesture slows down, and the trainer will be injured by mistake. Li Xindong, a trainer with many years of training experience, told the author that it takes a lot of effort to train a police dog. In addition to daily training, each handler and police dog need to "travel to learn". Through "charging", the trainers know how to take care of the diet and daily life of the police dogs, and further enhance the comprehensive combat effectiveness of the police dogs.
Take good care of every "comrade-in-arms"

"We clean the kennel every morning, disinfect it regularly, and deworm and vaccinate the dogs regularly, just like our own children. Li Xindong introduced, in addition to training, in addition to health and health, police dog diet is their most concerned thing, reasonable combination of ingredients, washed and cooked before feeding, meticulous care to make people more intimate with dogs.
It is understood that the Police Dog Training and Application Brigade was established in 2017, and with the strong support of the Party Committee and relevant departments of the Tianqu New District Bureau, it has continuously increased the configuration and upgrading of hardware facilities. At present, the brigade covers an area of more than 70 acres, with 89 kennels, more than 6,000 square meters of adult dog training grounds, and more than 2,000 square meters of puppy training grounds.
The police dog trainers of the brigade have all been trained and qualified by the Nanjing Police Dog Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, and a total of 94 police dogs have been trained and raised, which can assist relevant police types to undertake security inspection tasks for various large-scale activities.
"With long-term training and actual combat, police dogs will exit the 'mission mode' after reaching a certain age. The dogs will still be cared for at the base and have a series of interactions.
