Beijing News Express (reporter Huang Zhecheng) The National Poverty Alleviation Summary and Commendation Conference was held today (February 25), and a total of 25 individuals and 20 collectives in Beijing won the National Poverty Alleviation Award. Yan Xinjiang, an award-winning advanced individual who has traveled a total of 80,000 kilometers in the two years of participating in the poverty alleviation work in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, said in an interview with a reporter from the Beijing News that in his heart, Chifeng is already another hometown.

Yan Xinjiang is a "second generation of aid", because of his father's experience in aiding Xinjiang, his grandmother named him "Xinjiang". Yan Xinjiang, who works for Beijing Beiguang Media Mobile Television Co., Ltd., learned that the organization wanted to send a propaganda cadre to Inner Mongolia to participate in the poverty alleviation work, Yan Xinjiang first went home to consult the elderly. At home, his father was bedridden after a stroke and two preschool children needed to be taken care of by him, and he was relieved. But his grandmother and father supported his participation in poverty alleviation, and his grandmother told him: "You can go with confidence, there is me in the family." After obtaining the consent of the elderly, Yan Xinjiang gave up his original unit and took the initiative to sign up to participate in the poverty alleviation work in Inner Mongolia.

In July 2019, the fifth batch of poverty alleviation cadres arrived shortly after their appointment, which was the most vibrant time in the grassland, as long as there was no meeting, Yan Xinjiang would run to the flag counties of Chifeng City and to the villages, hoping to learn about the poverty alleviation project as soon as possible. "I try not to be idle in the office, go to the township to understand the situation, if the poverty alleviation work is not done well, first of all, I am sorry for the sacrifices made by my family for me."

Once on his way back to Chifeng City from Aqi, a roadside billboard caught his attention: a peasant woman was smiling happily with Huang Chengcheng's broom seedlings. Yan Xinjiang asked and learned that it was the broom seedling processing industry that Was being promoted by The Left Banner of Bahrain. The sand cannot feed the crops, but the broom seedlings grow vigorously, and the local government has built a processing workshop with the help of Jingmeng, and poor households can find employment at the doorstep of their homes. "Flexible employment, ecological green, this project is particularly good." However, the villages and villages have not formed an industrial system or a brand. Yan Xinjiang said that he immediately decided to change his route to Bahrain Left, hoping to find a way to help them gain popularity.

With years of experience in the frontline of journalism, Yan Xinjiang knows that to promote a brand, it is necessary to dig up vivid stories. But it is not easy to open the hearts of poor households and gain their trust. Wang Wenjuan, a typical poverty alleviation figure in Ao Bao Town, is more introverted and reluctant to tell outsiders about the ups and downs and poverty. Yan Xinjiang is not in a hurry, he soaked in the workshop from morning to night, working and chatting with farmers, from planting seedlings to strapping and selling, participating in the whole process. On the fourth day, Wang Wenjuan was impressed by this sincerity, and she invited Yan Xinjiang and the village cadres to visit her home.

When they arrived at Wang Wenjuan's home, Yan Xinjiang and the poverty alleviation cadres sat in the small courtyard and listened to Wang Wenjuan's story for 3 hours, yan Xinjiang followed the crying and laughing, recording Wang Wenjuan's story. Soon, the broom seedling project appeared on the CCTV news, the broom seedling sales channel quickly opened, the sales volume tripled year-on-year, and the government also added project funds.

During the two years of poverty alleviation, Yan Xinjiang has traveled more than 80,000 kilometers, which is equivalent to more than two circles around the equator. He said that two years in Chifeng was like ten years, and this was already another hometown in his heart. One year when he returned to Beijing to report on his work, before he left, the local villagers came to send him, and a fellow villager joked with him: "Xinjiang, you should rename your daughter," it is better to call yan Chifeng, so that even if you leave here, you can always remember our place." ”

Yan Xinjiang: Poverty alleviation has won, but now is not the time to lie on the merit book and wait for the handover

Beijing News: How do you feel about winning the National Poverty Alleviation Award this time?

Yan Xinjiang: I am very happy, this is a particularly big affirmation of our work. However, in fact, I represent more of my poverty alleviation team, the work I personally do is very weak, I think only the strength of the team can form a synergy, to achieve the victory of poverty alleviation, this award, in fact, is also for all of our team.

Beijing News: By May this year, your suspension period will expire, what are your next plans?

Yan Xinjiang: Although the poverty alleviation campaign has been victorious, our group of suspended cadres will have a few months to finish their posts, but now we cannot lie on the merit book and wait for the handover, but also make the results of the poverty alleviation work that has been completed more concrete, and plan some good projects for the next batch of colleagues responsible for rural revitalization who will take over the baton.

Beijing News: From your personal experience in poverty alleviation, what suggestions do you have for the rural revitalization work that will be carried out after the completion of poverty alleviation?

Yan Xinjiang: Poverty alleviation is a phased project, while rural revitalization is a longer-term project, and I think rural revitalization needs to explore more projects that adapt to rural conditions, can exist for a long time, drive local economic development, and ensure sustained scale of capital investment. Of course, such a project must also be ecologically environmentally friendly and cannot destroy the local ecological environment.
