Chinese porcelain has a long and splendid history. The porcelain of the Liao, Song, Xia and Jin dynasties is even more distinctive and colorful. On April 30th, the special exhibition of "Kiln Fire Relics - Porcelain Techniques in the Liao, Song, Xia and Jin Dynasties" was launched in the Ancient Art Museum of Shenzhen Museum (Tongxin Road). The exhibition is co-sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, the Henan Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics and the Chifeng Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, co-organized by the Henan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, the Chifeng Museum and the Shenzhen Museum, and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, the Ao Han Museum, the Weng Niute Banner Museum, the Bahrain Left Banner Liaoshangjing Museum, the Ningcheng County Liaozhongjing Museum, the Zhengzhou Elephant Ceramics Museum and other units provide strong support, and will continue until July 31.
In Chinese history, the Liao, Song, Xia, and Jin dynasties were an extremely special historical period. During this period, the national power was divided, in addition to the Song Dynasty in the Central Plains, there were also the Liao Dynasty, the Western Xia, the Jin Dynasty, and the local political power such as Dali, Tubo, and Uighurs. This period was also the peak of the development of ancient Chinese culture. Liao coexisted with the Northern Song Dynasty and Western Xia successively, creating a historical culture with distinctive ethnic characteristics and pluralistic integration in the process of multi-ethnic integration and development. The Song Dynasty ruled the country with literati, and the rise of the literati and doctors profoundly influenced cultural aesthetics and political thought. After the Jurchen established the Jin Dynasty, they successively inherited the cultural heritage of the Liao and Northern Song dynasties, and the bold and rough, fresh and simple grassland culture collided with the plain and elegant, gentle and introverted Central Plains culture, creating a simple and vigorous Jin culture, and had a profound impact on the development of the Southern Song Dynasty and later Chinese history in the same period. This period is the golden period of the development history of the mainland porcelain industry, the north and south porcelain kilns surged, the exchange infiltration, each good at its own strengths, in the whole country formed a kiln field, a hundred porcelain to compete for the prosperity of the scene.
According to reports, this exhibition selects 263 pieces/sets of ceramics from the Liao, Song, Xia and Jin dynasties, with a collection of fine products and rich types. Important exhibits include first-class cultural relics such as the Liao Dynasty three-color mandarin duck-shaped pot, the Liao Dynasty white-glazed cockscomb pot, and the Liao Dynasty gray pottery painted nine-deer pattern urn, as well as the Northern Song Dynasty Ru kiln azure glazed porcelain mandarin duck-shaped smoker, and the Jin Dynasty Zhanggongxiang kiln blue-glazed porcelain pankou folded shoulder bottle and other fine art pieces.

The exhibition has three highlights: first, the innovative display of Liao porcelain and Ru kiln, Zhanggongxiang kiln celadon at the same time, divided into two parts: "millennium Liao rhyme, colorful Khitan" and "rain over the sky blue celadon peak", contrasting and presenting the color of Liao porcelain, rich categories, Ru kiln and Zhanggongxiang kiln elegant and delicate, Seiko. It is worth mentioning that this is also the first time in Shenzhen to exhibit the celadon ware of Ruzhou Qingliang Temple Ru kiln and Zhanggongxiang kiln; second, the exhibition takes "porcelain craftsmanship" as a unique entry point, through colorful murals, illustrated exhibition panels, video playback and other exhibition methods, to show the audience the unique techniques and skills behind the porcelain; third, from the aspects of artistic aesthetics and social life, it is classified and sorted out, and explores and excavates the aesthetic interest, folk customs, social life, political system, etc. economic level and other cultural connotations, using cultural relics to vividly tell the story of China, vividly presenting the historical process of the Chinese nation's integration and convergence, pluralism and integration.
This exhibition is one of a series of special exhibitions focusing on Chinese civilization at the Shenzhen Museum. In recent years, Shenzhen Bo has continued to launch a number of special exhibitions such as Shangsheng Vibranium, Zhong Dingming's Prosperous Age, Classics Shine in China, and The World of Domain, systematically explaining the fruitful achievements of China's excellent traditional culture and highlighting the splendor of Chinese civilization.
