China-Philippines relations
On April 26, Philippine police said a Chinese national drowned while diving in waters near the town of Mabini in Batangas Province on April 25.
At first glance, I thought that it was a Chinese citizen who had been treated unfairly in the Philippines, but if I looked closely, it was an accident, and the Chinese citizen drowned while diving.
While expressing deep regret for this drowning Chinese national, I can't help but think that China-Philippines relations have become more and more delicate.
A few days ago, according to the Philippine Star, the Philippine Presidential Communications Office issued a statement on the evening of the 23rd, saying that a fake audio of Philippine President Marcos recently appeared on the Internet, trying to make people believe that Marcos threatened to "take military action against China". The statement stressed that Marcos had never given a similar order and that Filipinos needed to be vigilant against disinformation.
In other words, the Filipino people have also put a huge question mark on China-Philippines relations.
The three forces against China are becoming more and more arrogant
The first force
To reiterate, in 2023, the Philippines was the first country to be invited to visit China, when China signed 14 cooperation agreements with the Philippines in one go, including the "Belt and Road", communication technology, agriculture and fishery, e-commerce, agricultural technology, bridges, tourism, fresh transportation, preferential loans, etc., with a total investment agreement of more than 26 billion.
However, the Philippines has been pampered and spoiled, and has repeatedly sent ships to intrude into the South China Sea and land on Ren'ai Jiao to illegally "beach" them, not only ignoring China's repeated stern warnings, but also kicking its nose in the face and seeking help from the United States.
The second force
The rift between China, the United States and the Philippines has also continued since August last year, and just a few days ago, the US Army Pacific announced that the United States had deployed the "Typhon" medium-range missile launch system on the Philippine island of Luzon as part of a joint military exercise with the Philippine military. This is the first deployment of a ground-launched missile installation since the United States withdrew from the "Intermediate-Range Missile Treaty."
The United States is using the pretext of military exercises to deploy the "Typhon" medium-range missile launch system, which means that the United States can maintain the "Typhon" medium-range missile launch system, and if it retreats, it can withdraw the "Typhon" medium-range missile launch system, depending on China's reaction, attitude, and actions, in other words, it is testing China's bottom line.
If China does not react, then other countries with ulterior motives will also move this idea, not to mention the Philippines, China's Taiwan.
The third force
I have to mention little Japan here, which was originally unrelated, but after careful study, the relationship is big.
On April 25, according to the website of the Ministry of National Defense, Japan officially joined the "Aukus" alliance.
That's right, it is the "Australia Crying to Death" alliance that the United States has played Australia around and made Australia cry to death.
Obviously, the purpose of the United States is to strengthen the ranks against China, and Japan has never stopped its ambitions to confront China.
What is worth "playing" is that after Japan joined, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau Jr. immediately said that in response to the activities of China, Russia, and other countries in the Arctic region, Canada is considering increasing the deployment of submarines and starting negotiations on joining "Aukus."
With Japan's formal accession, Canada immediately stated that what about the Philippines, which has not yet concluded its dispute with China in the South China Sea? Will it also become a member of the "Australian cry to death"?
China has no choice but to pay attention
Whether it is the deployment of medium-range missiles by the United States in the Philippines or Japan's formal entry into the "Australia Crying to Death" alliance, it is no exaggeration to say that the United States is expanding its contingent to contain China.
Again, China has enough wisdom and strength to deal with all difficulties, and it has not yet taken action, on the one hand, it is waiting for the clarity of the US attitude, and on the other hand, it is also taking more forceful countermeasures.
As for the Philippines, it is just a small problem that can be solved with a hand.
