G-Class Off-Road Vehicle: The world's first luxury pure electric hard-core off-road vehicle is launched
Since its birth in 1979, the G-class off-road vehicle has become an off-road totem in the hearts of countless people with its classic shape and hard-core off-road performance. The all-new Mercedes-Benz all-electric G-Class off-road vehicle made its world premiere, becoming the world's first luxury all-electric hard-core off-road vehicle.
The all-new all-electric G-Class inherits the iconic square box shape, round headlights and mechanical door handles, showing the pure "big G" style. The new closed grille is surrounded by LED light strips, and the classic spare wheel cover is replaced by a tool-ready rear trim box, giving the classic a pioneering touch. The all-new all-electric G-Class off-road vehicle retains the non-load-bearing body, with a double-layer battery pack embedded in it, and a high-strength underbody protective plate composed of composite materials made of intelligent technology, which can effectively protect the battery pack while ensuring the rigidity of the body. Four independent wheel motors provide 432 kW and 1,164 Nm of power, each with a dedicated two-speed gearbox, and through torque vectoring, the "electric virtual triple differential lock" can be realized, and the locking response is as fast as milliseconds, and the vehicle still has the ability to steer in the locked state. The two-speed gearbox provides electric low-speed off-road gear, and the 2:1 gear ratio adds to the already abundant torque.
With an electrified classic off-road trio, the all-new all-electric G-Class still achieves 100% (45 degrees) of climbing ability with ease, while its 850mm wading depth is more powerful than the petrol G-Class. "Hyper-personalized" forward-looking technology to create a digital electric future
The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class Concept showcased the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform and the new MB.OS operating system, a self-developed new architecture, for electrification and digitalization.
The CLA-Class Concept is a new interpretation of the "sensual and pure" design language, with star-shaped front and rear LED light clusters, a continuous daytime running light strip and a 3D three-dimensional star emblem covering the front grille. The "hyper-analogue" cabin features a floating design with a large number of luminescent trims, and the seats and door trims are embossed with a laurel wreath emblem that symbolizes the Mercedes-Benz brand, combining technology and luxury, digital and analogue. At the same time, the interior also uses a variety of sustainable materials such as innovative paper materials, bamboo fibers, leather made with sustainable processes, recycled PET, etc.
The MMA platform adopts a full-range 800-volt high-voltage platform, and high-voltage components such as batteries, motors, electronic controls, and air-conditioning compressors are redeveloped and adapted to 800-volt voltages. Mercedes-Benz's self-developed new high-efficiency electric drive unit MB.EDU, highly integrated motor, two-speed gearbox and electronic control system, weighs less than 100 kilograms, has an energy conversion efficiency of up to 93% from the battery to the wheels, and achieves excellent energy consumption as low as about 12 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers and a cruising range of more than 750 kilometers (WLTP mode), shaping the "1-liter fuel car" in the electric era. The MMA platform supports DC fast charging of up to 300 kW, which can add 400 km of range in 15 minutes. The MMA platform also supports fuel models, bringing a new generation of Mercedes-Benz families with both fuel and electricity. The first production car of the MMA platform will be the first to be produced in China in 2025 and will be designed to be extended.
MB. OS is independently developed by Mercedes-Benz and can cover a new architecture from the vehicle to the cloud. MB. The OS covers intelligent cockpit, autonomous driving, body comfort, driving and charging, and communication modules, which will break the platform limitations and allow each car to have the same digital genes, which is the "central nervous system" of every Mercedes-Benz car in the future. Thanks to the decoupling of software and hardware and data-driven learning capabilities, vehicles can be frequently OTA, often used and always new, and can evolve for life. The Chinese R&D team worked closely with the global R&D center to develop MB.OS, and combined with the advantages of the local market to lead the development of intelligent cockpit and autonomous driving functions, to better meet the needs of Chinese customers. Need for Speed ™: The Assembly has landed in the Mercedes-Benz Smart Cockpit, bringing a richer in-car entertainment ecosystem. Mercedes-Benz models equipped with the third-generation MBUX intelligent human-machine interaction system are scheduled to be available to customers through OTA updates by the end of this year.
