With the deepening of the aging of the social population, the issue of old-age care has become a hot spot of general concern in the society. On the afternoon of April 25, the evaluation group composed of district party representatives, district people's congress representatives, district CPPCC members and citizen representatives carried out on-site evaluation of three private practical projects in Jiading District in 2024, including home bathing services, home environment adaptation and aging, and electric manned stair climber rental services for the "hanging elderly".
The evaluation representatives came to the Lujia Community Comprehensive Service Center for the Elderly in Malu Town to learn more about the overall progress of the project. Among them, the home environment renovation project for the elderly has received widespread attention. According to the physical condition of the elderly and the assessment of the family environment, the project carries out moderate functional transformation of the houses where the elderly live, and the renovation content is divided into three service packages: basic products, special products and personalized products. In 2023, Jiading will promote the renovation of the home environment for the elderly throughout the district, and a total of 358 elderly families will be renovated. As of the end of April 2024, a total of 79 households have been completed, and subsidies have been given to eligible recipients.
Tang Jianqing, a representative of the review, said that by optimizing the layout and adding facilities, the project has provided great help to the elderly. He suggested further expanding the scope of benefits and strengthening follow-up services to ensure the durability of the renovation effect and the satisfaction of the elderly, "but also hope to further optimize the details, such as providing more personalized service options to meet the needs of different elderly people." ”
Going up and down stairs has always been a challenge for seniors living in old neighborhoods. In Jiading, the electric manned stair climbing machine service has covered the whole area, providing a convenient way for the elderly to go up and down the stairs. According to reports, Jiading plans to carry out no less than 6,000 services in the district in 2024, with one-way upstairs or downstairs counted as 1 time, and the price of a single service does not exceed 80 yuan. By the end of April 2024, a total of 1,475 people have been served.
Zhao Jing, the representative of the review, affirmed the electric manned stair climber service project: "My community has piloted the electric manned stair climber service, and everyone's response is very good. However, the reservation system is a bit difficult for some elderly people, and they need their children to make an appointment together. It is hoped that in the future, we will explore the introduction of appointment methods suitable for the elderly, improve convenience and expand coverage. ”
For the elderly who are old and have lost the ability to take care of themselves, the difficulty of bathing and the high cost have become a major pain point. In order to allow the disabled elderly to take a decent bath, the District Civil Affairs Bureau launched a district-wide pilot action for the disabled elderly to bathe at home in May 2023, which has served nearly 1,000 people.
Pei Qi, a representative of the review, said that although the project has achieved certain results during the pilot period, it still needs to increase publicity efforts to let more elderly people in need of services understand. He suggested that the visibility and influence of the project can be increased through various methods such as community publicity and media reports, so as to ensure that the elderly who really need the service can enjoy this heart-warming service.
In response to the opinions and suggestions put forward by the evaluation team, the relevant person in charge of the District Civil Affairs Bureau replied on the spot, and said that he would seriously absorb the opinions and suggestions of the evaluation representatives, increase publicity, and provide warm-hearted, reassuring and intimate services for the elderly in an all-round and multi-angle manner. At the same time, they will continue to explore and innovate the elderly care service model to escort the happy old age of the elderly.
