The principle of wiping buds
Erase the vigorous buds. In order to balance the growth force of each part of the main vine, the main bud of the upper bud with strong apical advantage is erased, and the growth force of the secondary bud is relatively gentle, which can balance the growth force and ensure that the bud at the back of the main vine can develop into new shoots.
Erasation method
Generally, hybrids germinate early, so they should be wiped first, and the buds should be thinned first; the strong varieties should be wiped late, and the number of buds should be small, so as to disperse the nutrients; the weak varieties should be wiped early, and the number of buds should be large, so as to concentrate the nutrient supply and leave the new shoots to accelerate the growth.
Generally, the lower part of the plant does not leave secondary tips within 40 cm, and should be thinned at the beginning of germination. When the new shoots can clearly see the uniformity of the sprouts and the growth potential of the tender shoots, the first bud is wiped out, and the secondary buds are erased to retain the hypertrophied main buds.
When there are multiple new shoots germinating on the mother branch, the number of buds should be determined according to the space size of the mother branch, and the new shoots with flower spikes in the middle and rear of the mother branch should be selected to erase the flower buds on the upper part of the mother branch to avoid the fruiting part moving out year by year.
New shoot binding
When the new shoot grows to 30 cm, it is tied according to the different growth of the new shoot. In order to prevent damage during traction and binding, and to change the growth direction of the new shoots, the base of the new shoots is semi-lignified and twisted. The specific method is to pinch the second and third segments of the base of the new shoot with the mother finger and index finger of both hands respectively, and twist it gently to make it injured and the direction of the new shoot becomes gentle. When the twist is too serious, it will affect the development of flower spikes and even cause the occurrence of falling flowers and fruits.
