The new construction project of the Beiheng Corridor is about 19.1 kilometers long from the Beihong Road Interchange in the Central Ring Road in the west to Neijiang Road in the east of Zhoujiazui Road, and the overall layout is from southwest to northeast, passing through six administrative districts of Changning District, Putuo District, Huangpu District, Jing'an District, Hongkou District and Yangpu District. The east section of the project is divided into two sections of east and west with Wen'an Road as the boundary, of which the west section of the project is about 10.9 kilometers long and was successfully opened to traffic on June 18, 2021, and the east section of the project starts from the Tianmu Road interchange Wen'an Road junction in the west to Zhoujiazui Road Neijiang Road in the east, with a total length of about 8.2 kilometers, of which the Longchang Road interchange was completed and opened to traffic on July 31, 2020, and the main line of the eastern section of the Beiheng Passage under construction is about 6.9 kilometers long, and the whole line is an underground road, and the main line is connected to the west section of the Beiheng Passage that has been opened to traffic in the west, and reaches Shuangyang Road in the east, 3 pairs of import and exit ramps are set up along the line, and the tunnel breakthrough will be realized in July 2023, and the main line structure construction will be completed in DecemberAt present, the mechanical and electrical installation project has been basically completed, and the final mechanical and electrical system commissioning and asphalt and traffic safety construction are fully sprinted.

In addition, in the construction of the Beiheng Passage, new materials and new processes such as odorless environmentally friendly asphalt and low-temperature environmentally friendly asphalt will be comprehensively used, adhering to the principles of green, energy-saving and efficient construction, and promoting the sustainable development of the construction of the underground passage project.

It is reported that after the completion and opening of the main line of the eastern section of the Beiheng Channel, it represents the full operation of the main line of the Beiheng Passage Project, which will further improve the traffic environment along the line, alleviate the pressure of regional road traffic, provide a new fast channel between the region along the line and the Hongqiao hub, and serve the medium and long-distance arrival and departure traffic in the key areas in the north, which is of great significance for connecting the two major airports of Hongqiao and Pudong and serving the development of the Yangtze River Delta Economic Belt.
